Lagos State University (LASU) Vice Chancellor, Professor ‘Lanre Fagbohun Easter Message to all Students and the General Public.

Very respected colleagues and our world class students, Happy Easter.

Easter reminds us of how far humanity has come and how the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ offers hope in every adversity. As our country and the world continues to fight this pandemic, we must use this period of Easter to once again pray for God’s divine mercy and intervention.

As a community, these are unprecedented times in the history of our university. Working closely with the Lagos State Government, the university management has perfected plans to move all our classes online with a view to ensuring minimal disruption in our academic calendar. We will be needing the cooperation of faculty members and our world class students to make this transition a successful learning experience.

While we continue to celebrate the essence of Easter, we must also use this time to pray for all our leaders and healthcare professionals who are on the frontlines - risking their lives to keep us and communities safe from harm.

For centuries, the world has witnessed different plagues and adversities that threatened the very core of mankind. But through the love of God - demonstrated in the life of Jesus Christ, we will continue to overcome even the greatest of odds. Let us keep on maintaining good personal hygiene and social distancing. And because of your daily efforts as well as the sacrifices being made by those on the frontlines and capped by the intervention of God, we will beat this pandemic!
