Latest Update: The Lagos State Scholarship board has commenced the sales of form for the 2023/2024 & 2024/2025 Postgraduate Scholarship Award.

This is to announce to all Lagos State indigenes in Tertiary Institutions all over the country that application forms for the State’s 2025 Postgraduate Local Scholarship Award is now available.

The Requirements of the Scholarship are:
1. Evidence of indigeneship from:- (a) An Oba and (b) Local Government Council
2. Letter of Current Admission.
3. Student’s Identity Card.
4. Birth Certificate
5. Academic Certificates obtained
6. JAMB result slip
7. Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) identification card of the applicant
8. Photocopy of the payment receipt
9. Downloaded application form
10. Any other documentary evidence

The commencement of the new application has been announced; Please note that it shall be strictly online.

The Lagos State Scholarship Board is the State Government’s organ established in February 1968. The Board's mission drives focus on quality education for students and service to Secondary and higher education.

Before Applying Please Read

Applicant must be a Lagos State Indigene studying in any tertiary institutions across the country
All applicants are required to apply online via the Lagos State Scholarship Board online registration portal (https://portal.lagosscholarship.org/) FREE OF CHARGE.

Signup or Login and Proceed to fill online application form and submit.

Short-listed candidates for the qualifying test will be invited by email and SMS text messages. All applicants are therefore advised to ensure that valid GSM telephone numbers and personal email addresses are properly entered into the e-forms on the portal.

REQUIREMENTS/ELIGIBILITY

THIS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME IS FOR LAGOS STATE INDIGENES ONLY STUDYING IN ANY TERTIARY INSTITUTION ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

1. All applicants must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for postgraduate studies (Masters or Doctorate).

2. All Post-graduate applicants (Only applicable to Masters Degree applicants):

i. Where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g University of Ibadan) he /she must have graduated with a minimum of 4.9/7.0 at undergraduate level

ii. Where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g University of Lagos) he /she must have graduated a minimum of 3.5/5.0 at undergraduate level

3. All applicants must be in their first year or above (admitted on or before 2016/2017 academic session)

4. All applicants must have completed LASRRA Registration

5. All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba

6. All applicants must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government

7. All applicants must purchase a Scholarship application form online.

8. All applicants must upload clear scanned copies of all documents to ascertain the genuineness of their claims. Documents like:

i. Admission Letter

ii. Valid ID Card

iii. Letter of identification from Oba

iv. Letter of identification from Local Government

v. SSCE result

vi. Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASSRA) registration card

vii. Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).

viii. Certificate or Result statement from school stating graduating results clearly

ix. NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate

x. Masters Degree Certificate (PHD applicants only)

ix. Evidence of Consolidated Payment Confirmation Slip.

9. Shortlisted applicant must participate in a Computer Based Test to be conducted by Dragnet Solutions Limited in conjunction with Lagos State Scholarship Board.

10. Successful applicants will be contacted for oral interview

  • Select Scholarship depending on your eligibility and academic performance.
  • Use a valid email address and phone number to Create an Account
  • Upload Required Documents:
    • Admission Letter
    • Passport Photograph
    • School ID or Transcript
    • Evidence of Lagos State Indigene (like LASSRA ID or state of origin certificate)
  • Review and Submit Your Application:
    • Double-check that all details are correct to avoid disqualification.
  • Wait for Notification:
    • Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email/SMS for screening or further verification

COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) DATE, TIME & VENUE

The Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) has announced the Computer Based Test (CBT) exam date, time and venue for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Date: To be Announced.

The examination is for students who are indigenes of Lagos State in vairous tertiary institutions across the country and have successfully applied for the State Local Scholarship Award.

All successful applicants are expected to have recieved a Mail and / or SMS, one week prior to the Computer Based Test (CBT) from Dragnet Solutions.

However, any applicant who did not recieve a Mail and or SMS from Dragnet Solutions one week prior to the Computer Based Test should quickly notify the Scholarship Board via email: lagosscholarship@lagosstate.gov.ng or call 08173331177.

There would be no make up test.
