Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) Bursary Award Application Form, Eligibility, Requirements, Modalities for Disbursement, Application Guidelines & Deadline for 2022/2023 Academic Session.

This is to notify Lagos State indigenes in Tertiary Institutions all over the country that application forms for the State’s 2022/2023 Bursary Award will be available online at via portal.lagosscholarship.org. 

Interested applicants are hereby informed to apply via the Lagos State Scholarship Board Website by following the guidelines below:

Latest Update: The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board wishes to inform indigenous students of Lagos State in tertiary institutions across the country and intending to be beneficiaries of either Bursary or Scholarship Award that application forms for both Awards for 2022/2023 academic year will be on sale from Thursday, 1st June; 2023 and closes by 12 midnight of Friday, 30th June; 2023.

REGISTRATION PORTAL will be open by 12 midnight of Thursday, 1st June; 2023 while closure of the portal will be 12 midnight of Friday, 30th June; 2023.

It is therefore advisable for intending beneficiaries to make sure that they purchase and fill their forms online on or before the closing date.

MODALITIES FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF BURSARY AWARDS:

  1. The applicant must have gained full time admission into a tertiary Institution.
  2. The applicant must be a bonafide indigene of Lagos State (by paternity).
  • The applicant must purchase a Bursary application form. (Payment of N1,500.00 for Bursary & N2,500.00 for Law School Students) ONLINE.
  1. Must attend Bursary award interview conducted by the Board & be screened by Panel Members who are Retired Seasoned Administrators, Permanent Secretaries /Directors and Traditional Rulers from the five divisions of Lagos State.
  2. They must present documents to ascertain the genuineness of their claims like:
    1. Admission Letters.
    2. School Identity Cards.
    3. Letters from Oba & Letter from Local Government.
    4. All other relevant documents.
  3. If successful, must purchase a brochure at the cost of N1, 000.00 (One thousand naira) for Bursary & N2,000.00 (Two thousand naira) for Law School and Maritime Academy Students, Oron.
  • Further screening at the Board to ensure that all required documents have been provided by the successful applicants and files opened for them.
  • Files are sent to the Account Section for the processing of payment
  1. Account sections scrutinize each file to ensure genuineness of documents attached.
  2. Names of successful applicants are sent to the bank for the production of ATM Cards.
  3. Applicants sign all necessary documents in the accounts section and collect their ATM Cards.

BURSARY AWARD TO LAW SCHOOL STUDENTS

Furthermore, this administration increased Bursary to Law School students by approving the rate of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000. 00) only per bonafide indigene. This is to lighten their financial burden and it is paid once. A sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) only is also awarded to indigenes of the State studying in Maritime Academy.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

  1. Visit https://portal.lagosscholarship.org/ and click on continue registration on the tab
  2. Fill in all required details to start the Application
  3. Click on Start Application
  4. A pop up will display a GENERATED PIN, write down the pin code for future references.
  5. Click on PROCEED
  6. A page will display SCHOLARSHIP OR BURSARY option, pick what you are applying for and Add the pin which was generated earlier on to the available tab.
  7. Click on Continue
  8. Then you will generate a Web GUID (it is a payment code that will process your payment) NB: Kindly write down the code for reference purpose
  9. Click on Proceed to Payment
  10. Make payment with your preferred option. (Note: it is besst to make payment with your card)
  11. Click on Proceed
  12. After completing the payment process, a successful page will be displayed
  13. Click on the Print Revenue Receipt link below to generate evidence of payment
  14. Go back to thee Lagos State Scholarship Board Homepage, Click on Payment Validator on the top tab.
  15. Input your payment reference code (Web GUID)
  16. Click on GENERATE APPLICATION ID
  17. Payment successful page will be displayed, Stating your Application ID has been sent to your mail and Phone number.
  18. Continue with filling the forms.
  19. Doing all this successfully, you can say you are done with registering either for BURSARY or SCHOLARSHIP form.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Evidence of indigeneship from:-(a) An Oba and (b) Local Government Council
2. Letter of Current Admission.
3. Student’s Identity Card.
4. Birth Certificate
5. Academic Certificates obtained
6. JAMB result slip
7. Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA) identification card of the applicant
8. Photocopy of the payment receipt
9. Downloaded application form
10. Any other documentary evidence.

Friday 30th June; 2023.
