FUGUS Vacancy for the Post of Registrar & Deputy Registrar  - 2018

The Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State FUGUS Vacancies for the Posts of Registrar and Deputy Registrar for February, 2018.

The Council of the Federal University Gusau hereby announced that the post of Registrar of the University will become vacant from 18th February, 2018.

Similarly there is also a vacant position for the post of a Deputy Registrar. The Governing Council has therefore decided to commence the process to fill these vacancies.

Consequently, the University hereby invites application from suitably qualified candidates as follows:

REGISTRAR 

POSITION AND DUTIES

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University. The Registrar shall also be the Secretary to Council, the Senate Convocation Congregation University and shall perform any other duties assign to him or her.

The successful candidates will be required among other things, to train give good professional leadership to administrative staffs to ensure efficient and effective professional  administrative performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must :
  • Possess at-least a Second Class Lower Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized University. Possession of higher degree(s) in relevant subjects will be an advantage. 
  • Be Proficient in IT and must be current in deploying it at the level required for efficient Job performance.
  • Be a Member of at-least one relevant Professional Body e.g NIM, ANUPA, IPMN
Possession of higher degree in relevant subjects will be an advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • Candidates must have at least twelve (12) years of broad and continuous post-qualification experience in University administration of which ten (10) must be in University Administration.
  • Applicants should have been at the level of Deputy Registrar in a recognized University for a minimum of five years.

AGE

A candidate applying for the position must not be more than SIXTY (60) years of age at the time of appointment.


HEALTH

The applicant should be of good health and sound judgement, pleasant disposition and unassailable integrity

TENURE AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years. Salary and other conditions of service shall be as approved for Registrars of Federal Universities by the Federal Government of Nigeria and as maybe modified from time to time by competent authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates must:
  • Possess at-least a Second Class Lower Degree in Social Sciences from a recognized University. Possession of higher degree(s) in relevant subjects will be an advantage. 
  • Candidates must have at least twelve (12) years of broad and continuous post-qualification experience in University administration of which ten (10) must be in University
  • Must have served for at-least three years in a position not below the grade of Principal Assistant Registrar at an institution of higher learning at the time of application
  • Be Proficient in IT and must be current in deploying it at the level required for efficient Job performance.
  • Be a Member of at-least one relevant Professional Body e.g NIM, ANUPA, IPMN
Possession of higher degree in relevant subjects will be an advantage.

AGE
