Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari Approves Renaming of Federal University, Ndufu-Ikwo after Late Former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme.
The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has approved the renaming of the Federal University, Ndufu-Ikwo in Ebonyi State after the late former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme.This was made known by the Vice President of Nigeria Professor, Yemi Osibanjo during the the burial of Mr. Ekwueme, who was Vice President of Nigeria between 1979 and 1983 on Friday, at Oko, Anambra State.
According to him the Federal University, Ndufu-Ikwo in Ebonyi State would now be known as Dr. Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo, Ebonyi State.
This would serves as a way of immortalizing the late architect who has been describes by many as humility personified as also as an honor for his contributions to national development.
