The ReadySetWork is an employability and entrepreneurship program aimed at preparing final year students for immediate entry into the workforce as employees and employers of labour by equipping them with market-aligned knowledge, soft skills, business tools, and a mindset reorientation to the world of work.
Ready Set Work is a project from the Office Of The Special Adviser On Education, Lagos State. It is an employability and entrepreneurship training programme aimed at preparing final year students of Lagos State-owned tertiary institutions for immediate employment by equipping them with market-facing knowledge, the right attitudinal skills and work-life orientation and improving the quality of work readiness skills based on the right mix of technical knowledge, global awareness and digital tools required to be 21st century knowledge workers.
Ready Set Work 2019 will host 5000 final year students of the two foremost Lagos State-owned tertiary institutions in a twelve-week learning module based on a unique blend of classroom learning with online-based case studies and assessments to provide a rounded learning experience for our final year students as they take their first major ‘leap of faith’ into the world of life and the world of work.
The program commences in two learning centres – The Lagos State University, Ojo and the Lagos State Polytechnic , Ikorodu in the third week of November 2019.
Vision
Every student who graduates from a tertiary institution located in Lagos State will possess the knowledge, skills, and mindset required to be self-employed or become a value-adding employee.Participating Schools:
The 2019 participants will comprise of final and penultimate year students of:- Lagos State University
- Lagos State Polytechnic
- College of Medicine Igando, Lagos
- Caleb University, Imota

The programme will be open to 5000 final year students of the listed tertiary institutions using a bended learning approach of face-to face classroom learning and online case study assignments and Computer-Based Testing methods for periodic assessments.Programme Duration:
The programme runs for a duration of twelve (12) weeks of intensive training (Saturdays only) based on a blended learning program of six (6) weeks of classroom interface and the remaining six weeks split between three Saturdays of CBT assessments and three Saturdays of alternating self-study at home with online readings and assessment preparations.Internships & Seed Funding:
Graduation from the RSW program will be made based on successful completion of the program which consists of 85% minimum attendance of all face-to-face classroom learning in addition to achieving a 70% score in all assessment tests undertaken.Only outstanding students that have met specific program requirements will have the opportunity to earn internship placements at various top organizations in the state. A career fair will be held in the thirteenth week of the program and successful participants selected.

Method Of Application
From the first week of November 2019, the students’ registration portal will be open to applications from final year students of the listed institutions for one week only.
Students who have completed their
registration will be directed to another portal where a user ID will be
created for each student to be able to access the test questions which
must be completed within forty- eight hours. Successful candidates would
be contacted via an SMS as selection, verification and final
registration into the program now commences.
- The online pre-registration form can be accessed via a click on the drop-down window from the Students’ Registration Portal. Every intending participant would be required to compulsorily fill in the required information for the following:
- Full names (Please note that aliases or nicknames would not be accepted)
- Name of Institution
- Faculty, Department & Course of Study
- Matriculation number, email address and contact GSM number/s.
- Gender
No double registration may take place. The portal has been configured to accept applications from only one candidate and will automatically reject any attempt to register from the same ID source.
