The Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University, Bauchi [ATBU] Graduates 8,495 Students, 5,637 First Degree Graduands, 118 Obtained First Class, 1,618 Got Second Class Upper Division, 2.609 for Second Class Lower Division, 1,431 Got Third Class and 61 Got Pass.
No fewer than 8,495 graduates will be passing out at the Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University, Bauchi [ATBU] Convocation Ceremony slated for May 12, 2018.The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Saminu Abdurahman Ibrahim, disclosed this during a press briefing at the Gubi Campus of the University, in Bauchi, on Thursday, on the activities of the combined 23rd to 25th convocation ceremony.

Giving the breakdown, Prof. Ibrahim disclosed that 480 are for National Diplomas, 5,637 for first degrees, 1,580 for PGD, 770 for Masters and 90 for PhDs.
He said of the 5,637 first degree graduands, 118 obtained First Class, 1,618 got Second Class Upper Division, 2.609 for Second Class Lower Division, 1,431 got Third Class and 61 got Pass.
Enumerating the achievements of the University, Prof. Ibrahim said the institution had kicked off its College of Medical Sciences, adding that 41 students were admitted in the college during 2016/2017 section while 47 students were admitted in 2017/2018 section.
Other achievements, according to the Vice Chancellor, are construction of additional three hostels in Gubi campus and two in Yelwa campus to ease the problem of accommodation in the University.
“We also constructed 250 capacity auditorium, 160 capacity studio and Yelwa campus water scheme. About 490 academic staff of the university are supported to acquire PHD,” he said.
