Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship For Nigerian Students - 2018/2019

The Embassy of Japan in Nigeria, Japanese Government MEXT Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship For Nigerian Students (Research, Undergraduate, College of Technology and Specialized Training College) Application Guidelines for 2018/2019 Academic Session.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has received a notice of offer of scholarship to eligible Nigerian students who may wish to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Japanese Universities for the 2019 academic year.

Prospective applicants for undergraduate programmees must not be above twenty-five (25) years of age born between April 2, 1994 and April 1, 2002 and must have completed Twelve (12) years primary and post primary education and are willing to pursue degree programmes in Japanese University while prospective applicants for postgraduate programmes must not be above thirty-five (35) years of age, born on or after April 2, 1984 and must have completed a first or second degree programme at a recognized University, with a very competitive grade point average and are willing to pursue postgraduate studies or research in Japanese University.

Attached herewith are four (4) categories of students who can apply for the scholarship.

1. Research Students

Post graduate students who wish to conduct research in Japan for PH.D/Master’s degrees or non-degree course in respective fields. Applicants generally must have been born on or after April 2, 1984 (under 35 years of age)

2. Undergraduate Students

Students who wish to continue their studies in Japanese universities for undergraduate degrees. Applicants generally must have been born between April 2, 1994 and April 1, 2002. (between 17 to 25 years of age)

3. College of Technology Students

Students who wish to study in Japan as students at a college of technology, Mechanical/Electronic Engineering, etc. Applicants generally must have been born between April 2, 1994 and
April 1, 2002.(between 17 to 25 years of age)

4. Specialized Training College Students

Students who wish to study in Japan as a student at a specialized training college, Technology, Business, Fashion, Culture, etc. Applicants generally must have been born between April 2,
1994 and April 1, 2002 (between 17 to 25 years of age)

The deadline for the submission of duly completed application forms is 8 June, 2018.
