Applications are hereby invited from suitable candidates for admission into the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Undergraduate Degree Programmes for 2021/2022 Session.

Eligibility.

Candidates who applied for admission into degree programmes of the University of Maiduguri for the 2021/2022 Academic Session and have scored 140 and above in the UTME, and a minimum of Credit in Diploma, 9 points in NCE/IJMB or Second Class Lower Division from a recognized institution for Direct Entry that there will be online screening for admission.

Minimum of 5 credits which must include English Language, Literature in English, Mathematics and any other 2 subjects from Govt, Econs, Geo or Arts Subjects at not more than two sittings.
For LLB and Sharia, Arabic or Islamic Studies must be one of the two subjects.
Minimum of 200 points in UTME for LLB and 190 points in UTME for LLB & Sharia. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma (Law), 10 points from IJMB plus ‘O’ level requirements. Second Class Upper Degree in Arts and Social Science courses.

10 Faculty of Science a) Biological Sciences Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Either Phy/Geo/Agric Sc. at not more than 2 sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME for (Botany and Zoology) and 160 points in UTME for (Environmental Biology). Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND, 9 points in NCE sand IJMB and GCE ‘A’ level.

b) Chemistry Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND, 9 points in NCE and IJMB.

c) Geology Minimum of 5 credits which includes English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Geography at not more than two sittings Minimum of 160 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND, 9 points in NCE and IJMB plus the credits mentioned in the ‘O’ level requirements.

d) Mathematical Sciences Minimum of 5 credits in science subjects including English Language, Mathematics or Further Mathematics, Physics. Other two subjects for Maths are Bio/Agric, and Chem/Geo. For Stat. Bio/Agric, and Chem/Econs. Computer can take the combination of either Maths or Stat at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME for Maths and Stat, 160 points in UTME for Computer Sci. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND, 9 points in NCE and IJMB plus the credits mentioned in ‘O’ level requirements.

e) Microbiology Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at not more than two sittings Minimum of 160 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma, SLTTP in Microbiology or any related discipline plus the credits mentioned in ‘O’ level requirements.

f) Physics Minimum of 5 relevant credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Agric. Science at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma, 9 points in NCE and IJMB plus the credits mentioned in the ‘O’ level requirements.

g) Biochemistry Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 160 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma, 9 points IJMB (Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics).
11 Faculty of Social Sciences a) Geography Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics and Geography and any other two Subjects from Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences Subjects at not more than two sittings Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma (Geography, Surveying, Estate Management, Town Planning, Architecture etc), 9 points in IJMB and NCE plus the credits mentioned in the ‘O’ level requirements.

b) Sociology and Anthropology Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics and 3 other subjects from Econs, History, Govt, IRK/CRK, Geography, Civic Educ. at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma and 9 points in NCE and IJMB

c) Economics Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Maths, Economics and 2 other Social Science subjects at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND, 9 points in IJMB/NCE plus ‘O’ level requirements.

d) Mass Communication Minimum of 5 credits including English Language, Mathematics plus three (3) credits in any of the following: Economics, Geography , I. R. K/C. R. K, any Major Nigerian language, History/Government, English Literature at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 190 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism , 9 points in IJMB plus ‘‘O’ level requirements.

e) Political Science Minimum of 5 credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Government/History and any other 2 from Civic Educ., Econs, Geography or any of the Arts Subjects at not more than two sittings. Minimum of 140 points in UTME. Minimum of Lower Credit/Merit in Diploma/HND in the relevant fields, 9 points in IJMB and NCE plus ‘O’ level requirements.
12Faculty of Veterinary MedicineMinimum of 5 credits in relevant subjects (English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics or Agric. Science) at no more than 2 sittings.Minimum of 200 points in UTME.Minimum of Credit in Animal Health and Production Diploma, 10 points in IJMB plus the credits mentioned in the the ‘‘O’ level requirements.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Candidates should visit the University of Maiduguri website: http://www.putme.unimaid.edu.ng/ and register for the online screening exercise.

Candidates are to pay the sum of Two Thousand Naira (2,000) only for the registration including bank charges.

The portal will open on 28th February 2022 and close on 4th April 2022.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES


  1. Visit www.putme.unimaid.edu.ng
  2. Type your UTME Number as username and password. Both are case sensitive.
  3. Enter valid and accessible e-mail and phone number and click on Process Payment
  4. You wil be directed to REMITA to make the paymernt.
  5. Make PAYMENT as follows
    1. For Card payment you will be sent OTP from REMITA to your phone number and E-mail, which you will use to complete the payment
    2. For Bank Payment, you will print the payment slip with RRR and make payment at the bank
  6. On successful payment using card, you wil be returned to the dashboard. you paid at a bank, you will login again using description in Step 2.
  7. Click on verify payment to verify your payment.
  8. Your name and course applied for will be displayed on the dashboard.
  9. You wil be directed to the biodata page, fill your details and click next
  10. Fill your next of kin details and click next
  11. Finally provide your O’Levels results. Indicate the number of sittings (maximum of two), and select the certficatets) obtained. Provide the examination dates) and mumber(s).
  12. For DE applicants, in addition to 11 above, you will provide Higher Education Certificate details to include Institution Attended, Date of Graduation, Certificate Obtained and Grade obtained.
  13. Click next and upload the image of the documents indicated in 11and 12 above. The documents should be saved as image
  14. You will be redirected to the dashboard
  15. Review your submissions and if necessary, edit them
  16. Once satisfied, click on submit.
  17. Upon successful completion, the message “Application Submitted successfuly it can not be altered thanks”will be displayed
  18. You wilI NOT be invited for physical screening or aptitude test; you will be notified once Admitted through CAPS
  19. Once admission commences, visit putme.unimaid.edu.ng for updates
  20. You may be sent SMS and/or email on any information that may concern you
