Authorities of the Babcock University has announced the resumption date for commencement of first semester academic activities for all fresh and returning undergraduate students for the 2022/2023 academic session.

COMMENCEMENT OF LECTURES

Lectures Begin on Monday, October 31, 2022. Any Student Who Fails To Resume Before This Day, Forfeits His/Her Admission.

REQUIREMENTS FOR FRESH STUDENTS' ARRIVAL

All fresh students MUST come with the following documents:
1. ADMISSION
All students are expected to have done the following for JAMB Admission before arrival:
i. Result Upload on CAPS
ii. Change of Course
iii. Change of Institution if applicable
2. The 2022/2023 UTME ORIGINAL Results Slip.
a. Minimum JAMB CUT-OFF MARKS – 170.
b. Direct Entry Original JAMB Slip.
c. Only those with current JAMB result (2022 JAMB) will be accepted.

NOTE:

  • · No candidate will be allowed to register without COMPLETE O'LEVEL RESULT (NO
  • AWAITING RESULT IS ACCEPTED)
  • · All fresh students are expected to have paid their School fees before arrival. They are also expected to
  • come with their receipts of payment.
  • · All Transferred students MUST have submitted a copy of their transcripts from their previous
  • institutions before arrival.


IN ADDITION:
All Fresh Students (100 Level and 200 Level Direct Entry Students) will be required to undergo full
medical examination including psychosocial screening. As part of the medical examination package,
all fresh students will be offered Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis vaccines– Tdap, (optional) at no
cost to the students.

However, at the discretion of parents/guardians, Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine is available for female students at N11,125 (Eleven Thousand One Hundred and Twenty Five Naira only) for 1 dose (a total of 3 doses are necessary)for the prevention of cervical cancer.

RETURNING STUDENTS

By this notice, we wish to inform our esteemed parents and students of Babcock University that resumption for first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session is now Sunday, September 18, 2022.

i. Sunday, September 18th: 400L-600L students
ii. Tuesday, September 20th: 300L students
iii. Thursday, September 22nd: 200L students

NOTE:
i. On arrival on campus students are to proceed directly to their respective halls of residence.
ii. All returning students are to present their evidence of payment (Student Receipt) for the semester at their respective halls of residence before room allocation.
iii. Only students with proof of payment of school fees, or sufficient balance in their student accounts will be allowed on campus.
iv. The schedule of school fees is on the University website at www.babcock.edu.ng.

Meanwhile, the portal for online registration remains open.

2. COVID-19 AND SAFETY OF LIVES ON CAMPUS

The University administration is committed to the safety of lives and wellbeing of her students while on campus.

Rapid Antigen Testing

Mindful of the serious threat to human lives by COVID-19, especially with the discovery globally of the highly transmissible Delta variant, and the new OMICRON variant of the virus which is highly transmissible, all students will be required to undergo the Rapid Antigen test at a cost of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira only) to the student. Evidence of payment for the test will be required on resumption at the University Amphitheatre, venue for the testing. The student will wait for about 20 minutes for the result. If the test result of the student is negative, the student proceeds straight to the hall of residence. Students that test positive with the rapid antigen test will be offered isolation until they test negative or can be taken home by their parents.

IN ADDITION, All 100 Level and 200 Level direct entry students will be required to undergo full medical examination including psychosocial screening. As part of the medical examination package, all new students will be offered Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis vaccines– Tdap, (optional) at no cost to the students.

However, at the discretion of parents/guardians, Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine is available for female students at ₦30,575 (Thirty Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy-Five Naira only) for 3 doses for the prevention of cervical cancer.

ALL staff and students (18 years and above) are encouraged to use the opportunity of the yuletide holidays to get vaccinated against COVID-19 infection. There are several vaccination centres across the country. A minimum of 2 doses is required. However, for those who are unable to get the 2nd dose before resumption, this can be obtained on campus.

Acceptable modes of Payment for the COVID-19 screening are as follow:

1. Bank Draft issued in favor of Babcock University Teaching Hospital to be presented on arrival.
2. A direct fund transfer to Babcock University Teaching Hospital account with: Bank: UBA. Account number: 1019218642

Every student who pays by direct transfer should print out the transfer document (debit advice or pay-in-slip) and submit it at the University Bursary on arrival. Student's full name and Matriculation Number or Application ID as the case may be should be boldly written on the reverse side of the transfer document and submitted to the Bursary staff who will issue an interim manual receipt until payment is confirmed in the bank statement.

NOTE:
• All Returning students are to present their Course Registration Form upon arrival as proof of their registration for the semester.
• All New students are to present their JAMB Admission Letter to their respective School Officer upon arrival.
• All students must come with their COVID-19 safety kits on resumption.
• Students who can afford it may come with their infrared thermometer.
• Only students with proof of payment of school fees, or sufficient balance in their student accounts will be allowed on campus.
• While on campus, students are required to comply stringently with the COVID-19 health safety protocols as approved by the Federal Ministry of Health.

AGAIN: All students should ensure comprehensive preparation before leaving their homes for resumption. They should come with sufficient personal items that can last them full Semester (4 months). The schedule of school fees will also be on the website - https://www.babcock.edu.ng/finance.
