QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Professors and Associate Professors Applicants should possess Ph.D in respective disciplines and good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, with relevant years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration.

Senior Lecturers,Lecturer I and Lecturer II Applicants should possess Ph. D or Master’s degrees in respective disciplines and good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals. They must also have adequate post-qualification experience in teaching, research and academic administration.

Assistant Lecturer Applicants should possess Master’s degrees

i. LIBRARIAN II

Candidates should:

    a. possess a good Honour’s and Master’s degrees in Library Science/Library and Information Science;
    b. computer literate and have a good knowledge of the use of cataloguing and classification (LC);
    c. have a minimum of five (5) years’ work experience and demonstrable potential for academic librarianship in a university environment; and
    d. provide evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals and attendance of learned conferences certified by the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)

ii. LAW LIBRARIAN (LIBRARIAN II)

Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Laws in addition to certificates in Library and Information Science.

iii. ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN

In addition to 2(i.)a. and b., candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience and provide evidence of attendance of learned conferences certified by the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN).

iv. LIBRARY OFFICER

Candidates should possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library Science/Library and Information Science, be computer literate and have a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience.

SALARIES, ALLOWANCES AND BENEFITS

Generally, salaries and allowances of academic staffare as obtainable in Nigerian public universities. However, salaries and allowances of candidates for vacant positions in the departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Nursing Science are negotiable and at enhanced levels above those presently in public universities in Nigeria. Successful applicants with Master’s degrees will be given adequate support in the pursuit of their Ph.D.programmes.
