UNN Hostel Allocation Portal Application Guidelines 2021/2022
University of Nigeria, Nsukka [UNN] General Hostel Allocation / Accommodation Portal Application / Registration Guidelines, Deadline and Important Notice to Fresh and Returning Students for 2021/2022 Academic Session.

This is to inform all fresh and returning students of University of Nigeria, Nsukka that the scheduled date for the opening of hostel accommodation portal for the 2021/2022 academic session has been announced.

  • UNN Hostel Accommodation Portal (Fresh Students) opens up from 2nd December 2022.
  • UNN Hostel Accommodation Portal (Returning Students) opens up from 6th of December, 2022.
  • UNN Hostel Accommodation Portal (Postgraduate Students) opens up from 7th of December, 2022.
  • Time: 10am - 6pm daily.

NOTE: Hostel accommodation is strictly on a first-come-first-serve basis.

UNN Hostel Charges

  • N12,000.00 for Male hostels and;
  • N20,000 for Okeke Female hostels and 15,000 for other female hostels
  • LINK ROOMS AND 2 MAN ROOMS (in Enugu Campus) – N18,000.00

Method of Application

Others hostel should be in Nsukka


  1. Log in to the UNN Portal- www.unnportal.unn.edu.ng
  2. Enter your username and password (Your username is your Jamb Registration Number for New Students, while your username is your Registration Number for Returning Students).
  3. Click on Hostel Allocation.
  4. Click on Apply for Bed space (Select Hostel and Room No and Bed Space).
  5. Click on Apply.
  6. Print the Invoice carrying your RRR number and proceed to the bank or make payment using your ATM Card.
  7. Return to the portal and Click on Hostel Allocation.
  8. Select print Allocation Slip.
  9. Print Allocation Slip.

UNN Hostel Accommodation Rules and Regulations

New and Old Students are to take note of the following;
  1. The University has limited spaces for student accommodation.
  2. The accommodation is allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
  3. First Year and final year students are given high priority during allocation.
  4. First years are allocated 40% of the total accommodation, final years 30% while others and
    special needs are allocated 30%.
  5. All Nursing Mothers must apply for accommodation online and must notify the authorities early.
    (You are permitted to stay alone in a room or be two persons in a room).
  6. The following are highly prohibited and will attract eviction from the hostel:
    •  Squatting of any kind.
    •  Late return to the hostel at night.
    •  Smoking.
    •  Drinking of Alcohol.
    •  Stealing.
    •  Fighting and quarreling.
    •  Use of hotplates, electric boiling ring, refrigerator, gas cooker and so on.
    •  Use of generator sets.
    • Defecating and bathing at undesignated places.
    •  Pouring of water in undesignated places.
    •  Defacing of Hostel walls by posting of bills, posters and any document.
  7. Only students who have specifically met the following will be qualified for hostel
    • Paid all school fees till date.
    • Registered all courses online till date.
    • Possess the University ID card or have been successfully captured.
    •  Possess and use the University student email address.
  8. All hostel accommodation invoices are valid for only three days after generation. (Any student
    who fails to pay online within the three day period will forfeit the allocation).
  9. All Rev Sisters are to follow the authorized process for accommodation.
  10. Physically challenged students must also generate invoice and proceed to make payments.

It has come to our notice, that some people claiming to be ICT Staff are collecting money from students in the name of allocating hostels to them. Please note that hostel allocation is only done through the portal. Visit the ICT Subdomain for our list of staff www.ict.unn.edu.ng Be Warned!!! 

Students are advised not to deal with individuals.
