The Mountain Top University strongly believes in decent dressing, with the driving force of holiness within and without.

To raise men and women who will conquer their environment and impact their generation

Every student of Mountain Top University must abide by the following dressing codes.


Mountain Top University (MTU) Dress Codes for Female Students

  1. Female students must be corporately dressed at lectures, examinations, Church services and all formal occasions.
  2. Corporate dressing: a smart skirt suit, or skirt and blouse, or a smart dress with a pair of
  3. covered shoes.
  4. Dress and Skirt hems must not be less than 5- 10cm (2-4 inches) below the knees
  5. All sleeveless native attires or baby sleeves and spaghetti straps must be accompanied with a jacket.
  6. Shirts worn with a waist coat or armless sweater should be properly tucked in and
  7. should not be left flying under the waist coat/armless sweater.
  8. The waist coat/ armless sweater must rest on the hip, not just below the bust.
  9. Dress and Skirt should not be tight or bodyhugging.
  10. Dress and Skirt should not be transparent or tight or body-hugging.
  11. Revealing blouses, especially low-cut blouses and the type of blouse that does not fall
  12. below the hip line and transparent dresses are strictly prohibited.
  13. Hair attachments are strictly prohibited in the University.
  14. There shall be no wearing of earrings, chains and necklaces anywhere in the University.
  15. Piercing and tattooing of any part of the body are not allowed. Any student who has contravened this regulation before admission should declare this in the Students’ Affairs Office.
  16. Colours, clothings and shoes that connote, suggest or are linked to unacceptable practices or groups are not allowed.
  17. Wearing of hand band is prohibited.
  18. Trousers are not allowed. Tops, shorts or T-shirts with indecent and provocative inscriptions are not allowed.

Mountain Top University, MTU Dress Codes for Male Students

  1. A shirt and necktie, a pair of trousers, with or without a jacket, and a pair of covered shoes.
  2. Any shirt with indecent inscriptions or any sign with hidden meaning is strictly outlawed.
  3. There shall be no folding, holding and pocketing of one’s tie along the road, lecture halls, University assemblies, etc.
  4. There shall be no wearing of tie with canvas.
  5. Jerry curls and treated hair are not allowed.
  6. Sleeves of long-sleeve shirts must be properly buttoned.
  7. Collarless shirts are prohibited and ‘collared’ shirts should be properly worn and not left to be flying.
  8. All shirts must be properly tucked into the trousers.
  9. The practice of pulling down one’s trousers to the hip line (sagging) is prohibited.
  10. Low-cut hair combed regularly and cleanshaven beards are the only acceptable norms.

Mountain Top University (MTU) General Dress Codes for Students

  • There shall be no wearing of earrings, chains and necklaces on any part of the body and anywhere in the University.
  • Sports shoes or sneakers are not to be worn in the Chapel, lecture and examination halls.
  • Students must strictly adhere to dress code prescribed , particularly in professional disciplines.
  • There shall be no wearing of bathroom slippers in formal places including library and chapel.
  • Sleeves of long-sleeve shirts must be properly buttoned.
  • Any shirt with indecent inscriptions or any sign with hidden meaning is strictly outlawed.
