DSPZ Notice on Conduct of Test and Sales of Textbooks by Lecturers

Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro (DSPZ) Important to Notice to Fresh Students on Conduct of Test and Sales of Text Books by Lecturers.

It has come to tne notice of the Management that some lecturers have hurriedly conducted tests for students particularly, the newly admitted ND 1 Students, most of whom are yet to register for the programme for which they are admitted into, with the intent of coercing them to buy their textbooks from unauthorized outlets.

Management frowns seriously at this unwholesome act which in the past had formed the basis for varying disciplinary actions meted at erring staff to deter others.

In view of the above lecturers and students are to note as follows 

i. All assignments and tests so far conducted on/before 30th January, 2020 at as levels are hereby canceled

ii. Fresh tests for continuous assessments should be conducted in due course with effect from 10th February, 2020 to enable the newly admitted students prepare and participate accordingly.

iii. Lecturers are reminded that sales of textbooks through unauthorized outlets e.g. through the Head of Classes (HOCs) is prohibited and any defaulter will be severely sanctioned. For the avoidance of doubt, the only authorized outlet for sales of textbook is the Polytechnic Bookshop.

iv. Lecturers who have formed the habit of asking students to submit assignment/test with textbooks should desist or be ready to face disciplinary actions Students are strongly advised to report any breach of the above and any form of extortion by lecturers, non-teaching staff or HOC to management through the following numbers 08148728691 09028218277.
