Benue State University, BSUM Management Sets Up Administrative Committee Headed by Joseph Terwase Kerker, to Investigate the Immediate and Remote Causes of Drowned Students.
Following the death of two students in River Benue, the Vice-Chancellor, Benue State University, Makurdi, Professor Msugh Moses Kembe has approved the appointment of Professor Joseph Terwase Kerker, Dean, Student Affairs as the Chairman, Administrative Committee to Investigate the Immediate and Remote causes of the tragic incident which occurred on Friday, April 12, 2019.The Terms of Reference for the Committee include: To determine the immediate and remote causes that necessitated the students’ visit to the River Benue, to find out what led to the drowning, were there any witnesses to the drowning incidence and Any other cause(s) or ancillary matter(s) that may aid the Committee on how to stop such incidences in the future.
Other members of the Committee are: Rev. Dr. Pius Terwase Ajiki, Department of Religion & Cultural Studies; Mrs. Nguamo Adi, College of Health Sciences; Mr. Oliver Ibya, Ag. Chief Security Officer; Mr. Kizito Wachihi, President, Student Union; Mr. Iorsenge Fabian, Speaker of Parliament and Mrs. Vera Yol, Faculty Officer, Clinical Sciences.
The Committee is to complete its assignment and submit its report within three (3) weeks.
