Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed Has Promised to Improve the Conditions of Disable Students in the University, to Enable them have a more Comfortable Learning Environment.
Prof. Suleiman made this promise when he received members of the Joint Association of Persons With Disabilities, Nasarawa State University, Keffi Chapter, who paid him a congratulatory visit on Friday, 28th June, 2019.The Vice Chancellor, who was proclaimed the Patron of Association at the event, said he will leave no stone unturned to ensure that disabled students get the needed comfort, promising that all buildings in the University, henceforth, will be provided with facilities that will make accessibility easier for the students.
He said that special classes will be organized for the students, particularly for lectures that take place in places that cannot be accessed by these students.
The Vice Chancellor further prayed that they should not despair in their conditions, assuring them of his support to enable them succeed. He also promised to champion the introduction of courses in GST classes that will sensitize the public to the plight of the disabled, to help fight stigmatization from the society.
Earlier, the president of the Association, Comrade Aminu Usman Ogaza, thanked the Nasarawa State Government for granting free education to the disabled students, while also praying that more help be extended to his members, especially in providing them with employment opportunities, among others.
They were accompanied on the visit by their Matron Dr. (Mrs.) Jerry Jummai.
