African Leadership Bridge & Hold a Hand College Scholarship 2019/2020

African Leadership Bridge (ALB) / Hold a Hand (HAH) 2019 Undergraduate College Scholarship for First Year (100 Level) Students of University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).

The Hold a Hand (HAH) Project in partnership with the African Leadership Bridge (ALB) invites applicants for the 2019 College Scholarship.

The Hold a Hand Project was instituted in  2018 to provide financial support to under privileged Nigerian Students whose families cannot afford college education.

Our aim is to empower these students to continue to strive for excellence in the midst of adversity.

The Scholarship is awarded to first year students in good academic standing with leadership qualities and goals of serving their communities.

The award covers tuition from second year until recipient final year.

2019 Institutions fo ALB / HAH College Scholarship 2019

The 2019 Scholarship is only avaliable to students of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)

Selection Criteria

Applicant must 
a. Be a first year student of  UNN or COOU with proof of enrollment of admission letter / acceptance fee payment receipt
b. Demonstrate financial need
c. Exhibit leadership and service in the community and / or college
d. have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 scale
e. have a minimum score of 200 in UTME
f. Have a minimum of five credits at not more than one sitting, including English and Mathematics (WAEC & NECO)
g. Communicate past college and high school tuition sources.

Method of Application

  • Application must be submitted by 11:59pm GMT+1 on the 15th September, 2019
  • Selected Applicants will be notified before the 10th of October, 2019 for On Campus Interviews.
  • Applicants that make it through will be contacted for an interview with the HAH and ALB team
  • Three applicants will be selected from each college and tuition will be released to the college
  • Recipients will be introduced to each other and will meet once in a month for team community services.
