The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant posts of REGISTRAR, BURSAR and POLYTECHNIC LIBRARIAN.
THE POLYTECHNIC
The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny was set up to provide internationally marketable and globally competitive middle-level manpower for the oil and gas industry. The institution is located on the Bonny Island which has an array of the leading international oil companies. The school is in its founding years and has relatively new infrastructure on a compact campus. The Polytechnic is for now only accessible by boat.

JOB DESCRIPTION

(i) REGISTRAR

The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Polytechnic and is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic and shall perform such other duties as the Council or the Rector may from time to time require him to do.

(ii) BURSAR

The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic and is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the Polytechnic.

(iii) POLYTECHNIC LIBRARIAN

The Polytechnic Librarian is responsible to the Rector for the administration of the Polytechnic Library and the co-ordination of the library services in the teaching units of the Polytechnic.

ELIGIBILITY

(I) REGISTRAR

The ideal candidate for the post must:

• Possess a good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) preferably in the Arts, Social Sciences or Humanities plus at least 18 years’ post-qualification cognate experience or a Master’s degree with at least 15 years’ post-qualification cognate experience respectively.
• Must be a Deputy Registrar in the Polytechnic system.
• Membership of a relevant and recognised professional body is Mandatory.
• Must show evidence of Community Service.
• Must be devoid of racial, ethnic, political, religious and sectional tendencies.
• Must not be more than 60 years old and must enjoy good physical and mental health.
• Must be ICT proficient and have excellent communication skills.
• Must be a good manager of men and resources.

(ii) BURSAR

The ideal candidate for the post must:

• Possess a good Honours degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Accounting plus a professional qualification of ANAN or ICAN with at least 18 years’ post-qualification cognate experience.
• Must be a Deputy Bursar in the Polytechnic system.
• Membership of a relevant and recognised professional body (e,g ICAN or ANAN) is mandatory.
• Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.
• Evidence of Community Service.
• Must be devoid of racial, ethnic, political, religious and sectional tendencies.
• Must not be more than 60 years old and must enjoy good physical and mental health.
• Must be ICT proficient and have excellent communication skills.
• Must be a good manager of men and resources.

(iii) POLYTECHNIC LIBRARIAN

The ideal candidate must:

• Possess a Ph.D degree with at least 15 years’ post-qualification cognate experience or MLS with 18 years’ post-qualification cognate experience with evidence of registration with a professional library body.
• Must be a Chief Librarian in Polytechnic system.
• Must provide evidence of journal publication, seminar/conference papers. Such candidate have produced at least 12 journal and 21 conference/seminar papers or five chapters in standard textbooks or two textbooks
• Must show evidence of community service.
• Must be devoid of racial, ethnic, political, religious and sectional tendencies,
• Must not be more than 60 years old and must enjoy good physical and mental health.
• Must be ICT proficient and have excellent communication skills.
• Must be a good manager of men and resources.

(D) METHOD OF Application

• Specific services to local, national and international communities (giving dates, Institution/establishment and status)
• Present Employment, Status, Salary and Employer
• Extra-Curricular activities; and
• Names and Addresses of three Referees ( one of whom shall be the head of the establishment where the applicant current works).
