Applications are invited from interested, qualified and suitable
applicants for admission into Post-Basic Nursing and Basic Midwifery Programmes of the Abubakar Tafewa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for
the 2022/2023 academic session.Post Basic Programmes Options;
- Basic Midwifery (ONGOING)
- Post-Basic Nursing (ONGOING)
- Post Basic Midwifery (ONGOING)
- Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing
- Post Basic Paediatrics Nursing
- Post Basic Anaesthesia Nursing
RECOMMENDED: School of Nursing Bauchi (ATBUTH) Admission Form 2022/2023.
Admission Requirements and Duration:
Those who wish to apply for any of the programme must have the following:-a) Post Basic Midwifery Programme:
Is Eighteen (18) months Duration and eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others English Language, Mathematics and Three (3) Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at not more than two sittings.
Candidate must also be registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
b) Post Basic Opthalmic Nursing Programme:
Duration: One year Program and candidates wishing to enroll must be qualified registered Nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria with at least one year post qualification experience.
Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/other relevant course could be an added advantage.
In Addition to the above, eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE/WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.
c) Post Basic Aneasthesia Programme:
Is Eighteen (18) months duration and eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others English Language, Mathematics and Three (3) Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at not more than two sittings.
Candidate must also be registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
d) Post Basic Paediatric Nursing Programme:
Duration: One (1) year programme and candidates wishing to apply must be registered Nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and must have at least one year Post Qualification/Registration experience.
Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/Other relevant courses could be an added advantage.
In additional to the above, eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others, English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sittings.
Eligible candidates will be requested to sit for a written aptitude test to be followed by an oral interview.
For the selection interview, candidates are to come along with the originals of all their Certificates, license, evidence of sponsorship, certificates of workshop attended etc.
Pregnancy in Training
Any student who becomes pregnant during training is advised to continue her studies, but could take leave to have her baby and thereafter resume studies. However, the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria’s rules on demotion to a lower class for twenty-one (21) days absenteeism is applicable.
Method of Application
Interested applicants should come to the College and obtain application pin number on payment of application fee of five thousand two hundred (N5200) Naira only for Basic Midwifery, Direct Entry Basic Midwifery for Community Midwives and Six thousand two hundred (N6200) Naira only for Post Basic Nursing and Post Basic Midwifery into TSA pay point of ATBUTH, Bauchi.
The application forms will be available with effect from 10th October, to 16th December, 2022. Hard copies of the completed forms should be returned to the College on or before 16th December, 2022

- Click CHECK FORMS ON SALE or APPLY HERE (Make sure you read the program guideline and know the requirements of your proposed program before applying)
- From the list of currently open programmes, choose by Clicking APPLY on the right end
- Click APPLY
- A transaction page will be displayed; Click GENERATE RRR at the bottom left of the page
- A Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number will be generated on the page
- NOTE: paying online activates your account imediately.
- (I) To pay online (Master/Visa/Internet Banking) CLICK on PayViaREMITA and follow the online guide. (After paying just refresh your page and continue from step-12)
- (II) To pay through a Bank Branch, print your Transaction-slip or copy the RRR Number and proceed to any Commercial bank of your choice (Make sure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank)
- After payment come back to the portal https://apply.abuth.gov.ng
- Click on LOGIN and enter the LOGIN ID and PASSWORD you created at step-3
- Fill in all your details (Biodata, contact details, Next of kin, Qualifications(OLevel & ALevel & passport Photo)
- Click on MY FORMS from your profile menu and select SUBMIT APPLICATION on the right
- Make sure you agree with terms and conditions by checking the box at the bottom of your submit-form details, then Finally Submit

- Documents Upload is NOT required, Simply Make Sure all your information are properly filled-in before you finally submit the application
