Lagos State University (LASU) Africa Center of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE) Postgraduate Admission Form, Courses, Duration, Admission Requirements, Application Guidelines and Deadline for 2021/2022 Academic Session [Local and International Candidates].
The Africa Center of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following postgraduate programmes for the 2021/2022 academic session.About the Centre
The Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE) Project 4 an initiative of the World Bank, co-funded by the Bank and AgenceFrancaise de Development (AFO), The Association of African Universities (AAU), the Regional Facilitation Unit (RFU) recently announced LASU ACEITSE as one cf the current centres of excellence in 12 West and Central African countries. ACEITSE is posed to bring into the delivery of science technology and mathernatics education and educational management and leadership, a unique strategy that will produce innovative and transformative teachers (educators), capable of stimulating and sustaining the desired improvement in science technology, engineering and mathematics education at all levels.A degree from this Centre, funded by the World Bank, will accord holders global esteem and recognition. Staff are drawn front the best pool of global experts in STEM. The delivery of the curriculum will be in ultra-modern teaching and research facilities and students in the Centre will be international drawn from French and English Speaking countries.
Method of Application
All applicants are expected to pay a non-refundable application fee of online. Applicants from Nigeria are to pay the sum of twenty-five thousand (N25,000) only, while international applicants are required to pay the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100:00) only. Please visit the Centre's website http://lasu-aceitse.org/ for details of payment.AI applicants shall be required to sit for a qualifying entrance examination in the Faculty of Education at the Main Campus of the Lagos State University on dates to be communicated to applicants via their email addresses. International students will have entrance examination conducted online, details of which will be communicated to them later.

and candidates should navigate there to submit certain data that will be used to process their payments and more importantly, to give them a unique ID that will be linked to ACEITSE application process.
The next stage is paying for the application form: this should be done at https://www.lasu.edu.ng/tsa/epayment/aceitse_fees_selector.php where the candidate will select Local or International. This is a function of what was picked at the preceding stage where an application form number should have been generated and echoed to the student. Candidates will proceed to select the relevant items in the drop down lists and submit same. Payment is to be made using a credit or debit card.
Once payment is made the candidate is expected to navigate to the url: https://lasu.edu.ng/selected_special_programmes/services_page.php
Here the candidate will fill the application form, supplying relevant data as needed so that Centre Management can make informed decisions on the application.
Once a decision is made in respect of the candidate’s admission status, the decision will be communicated to the candidate, through sms, email and via both the Centre and the University web sites.
Copies of all relevant documents, evidence of payments made etc. are advised to be kept for record purposes.
Academic Programmes
The following programmes are available at the Centre in 2021/2022.One-year Master’s Degree programmes
- MSc. STEM Education and Entrepreneurship (with specialisation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics)
- MSc. ICT Education (with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security)
PhD. Courses
- PhD. STEM Education and Entrepreneurship (with specialisation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics);
- PhD. ICT Education (with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security).
Duration of Programme
The masters programmes of the Centre will be three semester while the doctoral programmes will last a duration of six semester.General and Special Requirements
The Centre requires credit-level passes in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics at Ordinary Level (GCE, WASC and SSCE) or their equivalent in relevant African countries for ALL Courses. Closing Date
The closing date for the application form is six weeks from the date of this publication. Candidates should ensure that their academic transcripts are received at the Centre before the closing date. It is the responsibility of each applicant to ensure that his/her transcript reaches the ACEITSE, Lagos State University within this time interval.Transcripts should be sent under confidential cover by the university where the candidate graduated from to the Director, Africa Centre of Excellence for Innovative and Transformative and STEM Education (ACEITSE), Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.
Application forms for all programmes should be submitted online and a copy of the e-registration slip printed out by the applicant for his or her records.
General Information
Candidates (Nigerians) who have not completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps assignment or are currently on Postgraduate Programmes need NOTAll Nigerian candidates must personally attend the selection examination. As stated earlier, international candidates will be expected to take a qualifying examination online.
