In a bid to foster the growth of education in Nigeria, Each One Aid One Foundation, a non- governmental organisation has pledged to give free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) application forms to two thousand (2000) indigent applicants across the country. The leader of the delegation, Alh. Mallam Mohammed, stated this when he visited JAMB Federal Capital Territory Zonal Office on Monday, October 28, 2019.
He stated that the objective of the NGO was to use education to empower the less-privileged in different parts of Nigeria. He disclosed that education has the potential to eradicate poverty and reduce the gap between the haves and the have nots.
He said, “ We are in the Board’s FCT Office to enquire on how to purchase UTME forms for indigent applicants. We want to start from Abia State and spread our reach nationwide.”
In her remarks, the JAMB FCT Zonal Coordinator, Mrs. Rifkatu Dauda, commended the NGO for its well thought out policy of giving back to the society.
She then briefed the delegation on the process of registration of candidates for the 2020 UTME as well as the guiding rules in bulk purchase.
She urged the NGO to liaise with the Abia State Office of the Board for ease of the administrative processes involved instead of coming all the way from Abia to Abuja.
