DSPZ Remedial Exam Registration 2018/2019 | ND II, HND II & Extension

Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro (DSPZ) Remedial Examination Registration Form, Eligibility, Duration, Fees/Payment, Registration Guidelines, Remedial Class Time-Table, Remedial Examination Time-Table, Mode of Examination for ND II, HND II and Extension Students.

This is to inform Members of the Polytechnic Community particularly students that, consequent upon appeal from well-meaning individuals and the students' body the Academic Board of its Emergency meeting held on I6th December, 2019 approved that a Remedial Examination be conducted for ND II, HND II and Extension students of 2018/2019 session who are still having some courses standing against them.

To this effect, each of the students concerned is to register for the Remedial Examination with the sum of ten thousand (10,000) on or before 15th January, 2020.

Furthermore, a Steering Committee has been constituted to liaise with all Deans of School and Heads of Department on the conduct of the examination.

Please, it must be emphasized that only ND II, HND II and Extension Students who have not exceeded the maximum four years of studentship of 2018/2019 Session are eligible to register and sit for the examination which is scheduled to hold on Monday, 27th January to Monday, 3rd February, 2020.

It is the hope of Academic Board that all students concerned will take the advantage of this arrangement to study hard with a view of passing the courses standing against them to pave the way for their graduation.

 I wish to bring, to your notice the following operational guidelines for the 2018/19 Remedial Examination as approved by the Rector .

A. Eligibility:

This programme is for the following categories of students: ND II and HND II students who were unable to graduate in the 2018/2019 academic session. Extension students from preceding sessions whose studentship have not expired.

B. Duration:

The programme duration is as given below:
i. Registration (Commences on Monday,16th December, 2019 — Ends on Friday, 24th January, 2020)
ii. Three weeks of revision classes (Monday, 6th January, 2020 - Friday 24th January, 2020). Revision classes shall be from 1pm to 6:00pm daily.
iii. Two weeks of examination (Monday, 27th January, 2020 — Saturday 8th February, 2020).

C. Fees/Payment:

Eligible students, who are interested in the program are to obtain a bank draft from either Unity Bank or First Bank Ozoro in favour of Delta state Polytechnic, covering the following non-refundable fees:
  • N10,000 registration fees 
  • N5,000 per course to be taken by the student. 

D. Registration 

A student is deemed to have registered on successful completion of the following:
i. Payment of the prescribed fees using Bank draft In favor of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro
ii. Changing of the Bank Draft to Receipt at the Polytechnic Bursary for use in further processes.
iii. Collection and completion of the course registration form obtained from the office of the student's Head of Department.
N/B: Students are expected to fill the courses they wish to sit for in the Exam.
iv. Submission of the completed form to the Office of the HOD for his/her signature.
N/B: The departmental Admin staff are expected to process the submitted forms through to Exams and Record Division.

E. Remedial Class Time Table 

The HODs are to prepare and publish the Remedial Class Time Table of the department on or before 6th January, 2020.

Revision classes shall be from 1pm to 6:00pm daily.

All courses in both first and second semesters in ND I, ND II, HNDI,  HND II should be accommodated as some students may take courses across levels.

The remedial classes are to be taken by Lecturers who taught the courses in the immediate past session, who will also examine the students.

F. Remedial Examination Time Table:

The Polytechnic Examination Time Table/Planning Committee is to prepare and publish the Remedial Examination Time Table on/before Monday, 20th January, 2020.

N/B: In planning the Time Table 3 to 4 halls and some laboratories could be used in order not to disrupt lectures in the ongoing session.

G. Mode of Examination 

Students' assessment shall be 100% examination, which shall be by paper and pen mode of examination.
