Lagos State Government Ministry Of Agriculture, Agriculture-Based Youth Empowerment Scheme (Agric-Yes) Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (L.A.P) Application For Admission Into A One-Month Intensive Training Programme for 2020. See How to Apply, Deadline, Aptitude Test Dates, Time and Venue.

In line with the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of the Lagos State Government to ensure Food Security and food self sufficiency, the Ministry of Agriculture is organizing a one month training programme to improve capacity, create wealth and employment in the agricultural value chains namely: Poultry, Piggery, Aquaculture and Vegetables for suitably qualified candidates.

REQUIREMENTS 

1. Passion for agriculture
2. Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate
3. Satisfactory physical/health condition
4. Age ranges between 18-35 years for men and 18-55 years for women

APTITUDE TEST SCHEDULE

Aptitude test for applicants of the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (L.A.P.) under the Agriculture-based Youth Empowerment Scheme (Agric-Yes), will hold on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Lagos State Cooperative College, Johnson Agiri Complex, Oko-Oba, Agege.

Completed forms should be submitted with copies of credentials (including LASRRA Card, Birth Certificate, ID Card, School Documents) to any of the locations listed above on or before Friday, 10th January, 2020.

NB:  Lagos Agripreneurship Programme was initiated in furtherance of the State Government’s objective of training 15,000 youths and women in the various agricultural value chains by the year 2023.

Successful applicants will undergo a one-month training programme at the Agricultural Training Institute at Araga, Epe. The training is expected to improve capacity as well as create wealth and employment opportunities in the agricultural value chains such as poultry, piggery, aquaculture and vegetables.
 
The programme would, ultimately, reduce unemployment, create jobs, alleviate poverty and attract the attention of women to opportunities in agribusiness in the State.

The impacts of the training include the creation of 2000 Agro-Entrepreneurs who would, in turn, become job creators; promotion of food security, improved nutrition and general well-being of Lagosians.

Others, according to him, include the creation of at least 4000 indirect jobs by every 2000 beneficiaries per year through the engagement of support staff such as attendants and artisans among others.
