Submission for the 2019 NCF/AMB. Aduke Alakija Memorial Environmental Art & Essay Competition has commenced.The theme for this year’s competition is “Save the tree, Save the Earth". The competition is open to participants within the following categories:
- 5-7 years, 8-11 years, 12-14 years and 15-18 years.
Anyone between 5-18 years of age in full-time education is eligible to participate in the art competition, while the essay competition is open to anyone between 12-18 years of age in full-time education.
BACKGROUND
This competition is in memory of Ambassador Aduke Alakija, OFP. As a lawyer, Each essay should not be more than 500 words diplomat and administrator, the late Ambassador Aduke Alakija undertook the administration of the Foundation at its earliest stage and finally ensured NCF was Each essayshould be between 500-750 words registered as a charitable trust in 1982. She was a member of the trustees of NCF till Each essay must be labelled with competitor's full name (surname in capitals), her death on 27th March 2016. In her last Will and Testament, the late Ambassador age,sex, name and address of school and endorsed by the principal of the school. Alakija left a handsome pecuniary legacy to NCF, thus becoming the first person to give a bequest to the Foundation.ART
Competition is open to anyone between 5-18years of age in full timeCOLLECTION/SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
All entries should be sent to the following locations on or before Friday 31st January, 2020.CATEGORIES:
a.5-7 years b. 8-11years c.12-14years d.15-18years Individuals must not submit more than one entry and schools not more than 5 entries in each age category. Entries may be in colour or black and white in any drawing or painting material.All entries must be on paper size:
- Minimum - 20 x 30cm
- Maximum- 40 x 50cm
Each artwork must be labelled on the back with the competitor's full name (surname in capitals) age, sex, name and address of school and must be endorsed by the principal.
ESSAY
Competition is open to anyone between 12-18years of age in full time education.CATEGORIES:
a. 12-14years b.15-18years Each entry must be in competitor's own handwriting. Competitors with disability needing someone to write their dictated essays must accompany their entries with explanatory letters from their school principal.Age category 12-14 years:
Each essay should not be more than 500 words
Age category 15-18 years:
Each essay should be between 500-750 words Each essay must be labelled with competitor's full name (surname in capitals), age, sex, name and address of school and endorsed by the principal of the school.
COLLECTION/SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES
All entries should be sent to the following locations on or before Friday 31st January, 2020.
The decision of the judges in all matters is final and no correspondence may be entered into.
Non adherence to any of the rules for both categories will lead to disqualification.
All submitted entries become the property of NCF. Only winners will be notified.
All winners will receive certificates and Attractive prizes Closing date of entries: Friday. 31st January, 2020
