NSUK 6th Combined Convocation Ceremony Date 2019 [POSTPONED]

Nasarawa State University, Keffi, (NSUK) 6th Combined Convocation Ceremony Dates, Award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees and Honorary Doctorate Degrees and Programme of Events for 2019 Session [POSTPONEMENT NOTICE].

Latest Update: The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed, on behalf of Council, and Senate of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, announces the indefinite postponement of the 6th Combined Convocation Ceremony that was scheduled to take place on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th March, 2020.

The postponement is in line with the directive of the Government to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The University regret the inconveniences caused to our esteemed honorary awardees, graduants, their parents, invited guests, and the general public.

A new date for the Convocation Ceremony will be announced in due course.

The Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, says the 6th Convocation ceremony University keffi will take place on the 28th of March 2020.

This information was made known on Thursday, during the official presentation of a letter of award of Honorary Doctorate Degree on the erstwhile governor of Nasarawa State, and senator representing the good people of Nasarawa South Senatorial district, distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Al Makura at his office in Abuja.

The Vice Chancellor who was accompanied by the Pro Chancellor and chairman governing Council Professor Emeritus Adamu Baikie informed him that the honor was in recognition of his immense contribution to Nasarawa State in general and Nasarawa State University keffi in particular, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the construction of sound road networks on campus, the donation and furnishing of both Male and Female Hostels amongst other very visible projects in the campus.

He further informed the senator that he had bequeathed a worthy successor in the person of his Excellency Engineer Abdullahi A .Sule who is continuing with the laudable people oriented programmes he had started during his regime. He also praised the former governor for his unique political sagacity and the change he brought to the socio economic landscape of the state.

Presenting the letter of award to Senator Al Makura, the Pro Chancellor and Chairman governing council Professor Emeritus Adamu D Baikie said the award is simply a token for the good work he had done and he is still doing. He recalled his several encounters especially how he was made the pioneer Vice Chancellor of NSUK and how senator Al Makura appointed him as chairman governing Council before the expiration of his tenure, he thanked the senator for finding him worthy and also for accepting the honor.

In his response, senator Al Makura said he was humbled by the honor because it was coming from a very valuable citadel of learning and one of the best Universities in Nigeria. He made reference to the sterling qualities of Professor Baikie as someone who had instilled very rare values in him and he had shaped and nurtured his life to where he is today. He further described Professor Baikie as one of the most respected Academic intellectual and a beacon of hope. He thanked the professor for the recovery of best standards in the university which have been made possible by the leadership of the team he had constituted, he sincerely thanked the university management for the honour and said that the university is lucky to have the leadership of Professor Baikie and the present university management under Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed.

Management staff who were on the visit included the two Deputy Vice Chancellors, the university Registrar, the Bursar the university librarian and the Information and Protocol Officer.
