University of Lagos (UNILAG) Hostel Balloting Exercise Schedule, Guidelines and Requirements for Fresh and Returning Students for 2019/2020 Academic Session.

Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the scheduled dates, guidelines and requirements for hostel balloting / hostel accommodation application for fresh and returning students for 2019/2020 academic session.

University of Lagos (UNILAG) hostel balloting exercise for returning students for 2019/2020 is scheduled to commence on  Monday 6th January 2020 while fresh students hostel balloting exercise is scheduled to commence on 13th January 2020.

Hostel Balloting exercise for fresh and returning students is expected to commence from Monday to Friday at exactly 8.00am to 4.00pm daily.

1. Hostel Confirmation Slip (Original)
2. Seven (7) passports
3. Bio-Data Form *for Freshers*
4. WAPIC Receipt (Photocopy)
5. Lagmobile Receipt (Photocopy)
6. School Fees Receipt
7. Admission Letter (Photocopy) *for Freshers*
8. 2 Bed Sheets
9. 2 Pillow Cases
10. Parents passport
11. SIGNED conditions of TENANCY

UNILAG Hostel Balloting Exercise Guidelines for Fresh and Returning Students 2019/2020

  • Go to UNILAG Student portal via studentportal.unilag.edu.ng
  • Log in to your portal
  • Scroll down to the accommodation icon
  • Click on it
  • Select your desired hostel
  • Click on hostel reservation
  • Confirm your reservation
  • Download your hostel slip
  • Only Registered students are eligible to apply.

NOTE:
  • UNILAG has only 7 females hostel and 5 males hostel which are insufficient to accommodate almost 25,000 of students in the school.
  • To secure a bed-space in this Hostels you’ll partake in an online exercise called *BALLOTING* . Which is indirectly the survival of the fittest story, that is not everyone will get a space, it’s not a first come first serve service. It’s only depend on your technical ability to beat traffic network.( story for another day).
  • In UNILAG hostels, different sex are not meant to be in a room together , meetings are limited to the hostels reception.
  • You all will be assigned a hostel on your portal immediately after paying your school fees in conjunction with your matric no. Irrespective of this assigned hall, you can ballot for any other hostel of your choice. That is you may be assigned to Makama hall but you prefer Moremi hall, you can ballot for moremi.
  • After balloting and you’re fortunate to get a space , you’ll be given a less than a week from the day you get the space to pay the hostel bill or it’ll be re allocated to another candidate.
