FULafia Graduates 1,447 Students, 29 Bags 1st Class Awards

Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) Churns Out One Thousand Four Hundred and Fourty Seven (1,447) Graduate Students, Twenty Nine (29) Bags First Class Award at the 2nd - 5th Convocation Ceremony.

The Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, has conferred first class degrees on 29 students out of the 1,447 graduates it chunked out into the labour market.

This was made known yesterday by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, during the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th convocation of the institution.

Established in the year 2011 by the administration of former President Goodluck, it commenced academic activities in 2012 with three faculties including Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Social Science, the institution had only 17 departments that spread across the faculties.
Prof. Liman commended stakeholders within and outside the university for their collaboration which he said has made the university better and greater than it was.

He recalled that it started full academic session with 11 programmes across three faculties, since the coming on board of the present administration and in response to the demand for quality education has increased academic programmes to 54 and has correspondingly raised the numbers of faculties from three to eight.

“The convocation today is momentous, because it is the first in four years that graduates 2nd ,3rd, 4th and 5th sets are gathering for the conferment of university degrees.

“Between February 2016 and 2019 the university is now graduating at the ongoing combined convocation for 1,447 students, this brings the overall total to 1,566 graduates produced by the university since inception”, he said.
