NASELS-LASU Emerges Winners of the 2020 Westcosels Conference Inter-Varsity Debate Competition After Defeating UNILAG, U.I, FUOYE, TASUED, ADELEKE UNI, UNIOSUN at the Final Stage.
The Lagos State University (LASU), specifically the Department of English represented by Ashaka Victory and Adeyemi Shukroh emerged as WINNERS at the 2020 WESTCOSELS CONFERENCE INTERVARSITY DEBATE COMPETITION.The two debaters of Lagos State University had the highest points at the semifinal and sailed through to defeat UNILAG, U.I, FUOYE, TASUED, ADELEKE UNI, UNIOSUN at the Final stage.
Adeyemi Shukroh, a 300L student won the award of Best Speaker & Best Speech. Ashaka Victory, a 200L student won the award of 2nd Best Speaker .
LASU emerged as the overall winner of the intellectual word combat, getting the best 3 awards of the Southwest Conference.
They were badged Great Debaters of NASELS LASU due to their excellent style of debating, diction, clarity, and their confidence.
They indeed made LASU stand out amongst all other universities present at the conference.
