National Open University (NOUN) Disclaimer to Graduands on Fraudulent / False Text Messages and Calls in Circulation on Payment of Convocation Fee / Dues Ahead of the 2020 9th Convocation Ceremony.
Latest Update: This is to inform all graduating studenu of NOUN that there are fraudulent text messages and phone calls making the rounds on graduating students directing interested students to pay the sum of thirty thousand naira (N30,000) into a certain account.Please note that the procedure for graduating students in NOUN remains as approved by the Senate and does not not require payment of any amount.

It has come to the attention of both the Management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and the Executive of the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) that some unscrupulous individuals are publishing online a fraudulent information requesting all student about to graduate from the National Open University of Nigeria at its 9th Convocation Ceremony scheduled to hold on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st March, 2020 to pay the following fees/dues before they would be cleared for their names to be printed on the graduation list.
a) N10,000 for Graduation Gowns
b) N5.000 for Federal Alumni Due
c) 2,500 for Study Centre Alumni Due
d) 10,000 for project fees.
The fraudulent information further stated that those names appear on the NEW WEBSITE should print out new E-wallet from their individual portals.
The National Executive of the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) by this announcement wishes to Inform the general public specially studentt who have graduated or are about to graduate from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) that this fraudulent and criminal misinformation being circulated online did not emanate from the Association and hereby distance itself and the entire Association and the Management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) from it.
For emphasis, no graduate or student who is about to graduate from the University is required to pay any of the fees or dues mentioned above.
For the avoidance of doubt, all graduates and those about to graduate are required to pay ONLY the fees approved by the Council of the University for this purpose and subsequently officially published by the University in its official website or in print and electronic media.
The general public and all students about to graduate from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) are kindly requested to ignore any request for payment of fees/dues by these unscrupulous elements and ensure that they pay only the fees/dues approved by the Council of the University for this purpose.

The University Management wishes to by this notice inform all its graduating students that payment of Alumni fees or dues of whatever nature is absolutely voluntary and is not part of the conditions to be met by students before graduating.
