University of Calabar (UNICAL) Announces Suspension of Academic Activities and Closure of University Campuses Till Further Notice to Curb the Spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic.
As part of measures to contain the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19) in Nigeria, the Federal Government has granted approval for all schools in the country to shut down for one month.Accordingly, the Vice Chancellor on Monday, March 23, 2020 directed staff and students of the University of Calabar to proceed on break for a period of one month beginning from Monday, March 23, 2020 and to resume from Friday, April 24, 2020.
Due to the extension of the lock-down period by the Federal Government, the Vice Chancellor has approved the suspension of resumption date earlier scheduled for Friday April 24th, 2020 pending further directives from appropriate authorities when the pandemic may have been brought under control.
Management Staffs are however reminded to continue to carry out their duties from home.
The Chief Security Officer will ensure adequate security coverage on Campus throughout the lockdown period.
