The Governing Council of the Crawford University Faith City, Igbesa Ogun State hereby announces the vacancy of the position of Vice-Chancellor of the University.

Introduction and Invitation

Crawford University is a private University established by the Apostolic Faith Mission and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) for operation in 2005. The University currently operates two Colleges namely: the College of Natural & Applied Sciences and the College of Business & Social Sciences, and all the Academic Programmes of the University are accredited by the NUC. The University also has a Postgraduate School. The main focus of the University is encapsulated in its motto “Knowledge with Godliness”.

The Board of Trustees and Council of Crawford University, Igbesa invite applications from suitably-qualified Professors with cognate experience in university teaching, research and administration to apply for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun State.

Eligibility

The post of Vice-Chancellor of Crawford University is expected to be filled by an outstanding scholar who is locally-respected and internationally-renowned and who as Chairman of Senate, will pilot the University to greater academic heights.

Specifically, the candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • A full Professor with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Specialisation in a discipline within existing Colleges in the University will be an advantage.
  • Should possess considerable managerial and leadership experience within the university system, and show demonstrable ability to attract funds to the University.
  • Proficiency in the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for administration, teaching and research.
  • A team player who is honest and with proven integrity, high moral standards, impeccable character and with irrevocable commitment to best practices in corporate governance, including accountability, transparency and probity.
  • Ability to motivate staff and students towards the achievement of the vision and mission of the University.
    Ability to promote linkages with external bodies (local and international).
  • Should be in good physical and mental health.
  • Be competent at all times to advise the Board of Trustees and Council on matters affecting the policy, finance and administration of the University.
  • Maintain a high degree of self-discipline and be capable of maintaining staff and students discipline in the University.
  • Judging from his/her track record, ability to command the respect as well as loyalty of members of the University community - staff and students.

15. Specific services to local, national and international communities (giving dates, institution/establishment and status)
16. Present Employment, Status, Salary and Employer
17. A statement of the candidate’s vision for Crawford University in the next five years
18. Extra-curricular activities
19. Names and Addresses of three referees (one of whom should provide spiritual reference and one should, where appropriate, be the head of the establishment where the applicant currently works)

Method of Application

Interested candidates are expected to submit the following:
1. Thirty copies of the application letter with detailed CV following the guidelines listed above.
2. Thirty copies of the vision statement.
3. Ten copies of any ten papers published in reputable international journals after attaining the position of full professor.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interactive session and will be expected to come with
1. Originals of their credentials.
2. Certificate of birth or statutory declaration of age.
3. Certificate of medical fitness based on documented comprehensive, medical examination from a recognised hospital.
