Lagos State University (LASU) Computer Science Department Unveils / Launches Virtual Notice Board for all Students Access to Relevant Information in a Personalized and Timely Manner.
Spurred by the challenge of information overload often faced by students since the suspension of physical academic activities in the University Campuses, the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Lagos State University has developed a Virtual Notice Board designed to enhance students access to relevant information in a personalized and timely manner by sifting out official information from the University for their attention through personal notifications.The Virtual Notice Board, which can be accessed via http://csc.lasu.edu.ng/noticeboard was designed by Dr. Toyin Enikuomehin-led team, and approved for use by all Faculties by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, NPOM.
The Virtual Notice Board is a well-organized communication system that ensures the continuity of the conventional Pre-Covid-19 physical notice board system usually managed by departments. The system will notify each student once a new post is available on the notice board. Notification is across all platforms and accounts and will be accessed by respective Heads of Departments to post information on their departmental notice board.
The system uses Closed User Group approach for notification, records student that views the message on the notice board and automatically sends a reminder to those that have not checked the message once in every 3 days.
All students of Lagos State University are hereby enjoined to log into the system (http://csc.lasu.edu.ng/noticeboard) to start accessing the Virtual Notice Board for timely and relevant information.
