West Africa Health Examinations Board (WAHEB) Examination Dates/Timetable for the 2022 Environment Health Technicians (EVT) and Environmental Health Assistants (EHA) at the Various Center Colleges of Health Sciences and Technology (COHST) in West Africa.

Authorities of the West Africa Health Examinations Board (WAHEB) has approved the 2022 National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Examinations to hold on Monday 21st November, 2022 - Thursday 25th November, 20212 at all the designated Centre Colleges of Health Sciences and Technology in West Africa.

West Africa Health Examination Board (WAHEB) wishes to announce the release of the Examination Time table for Environment Health Technicians (EVT) and Environmental Health Assistants (EHA), 2022.

The exams date has been scheduled to commence from Monday 21st November, 2022 and end on Thursday 25th November, 2022.

West Africa Health Examinations Board (WAHEB) 2022 Examination Guidelines for all Centers

1. Examiners /Invigilators, Students/Examination candidates must use clear face mask.

2. All staff and workers on campus must wear face masks through out the period of examinations and maintain social distancing ethic on campus.

3. Authorities of Institutions must install Hand washing facility with buckets, washing basins, unning water and sanitizers at the point of entry and exit to every Institution’s Campus, and entry and exit of every Examination; Moreover, Invigilators/Examiners Students/examination candidates shall compulsorily carry out hand washing and use hand sanitizers.

4. Examination Sitting arrangement should maintain (2) two-metre spacing at various examination centres.

5. Disinfection of the examination Halls should be carried out by Centre Institutions 48 hours before exam and must be certified done by a Registered Environmental Health Officer.

6. Any Institution that will not be ready or prepared to take part in the examination as scheduled should signify to the Registrar of WAHEB within 24 hours.

7. Institutions should adequately inform their registered candidates.

ABOUT WAHEB

The West Africa health examinations board (WAHEB) was established in 1925 and was affiliated to the Royal Society of Health London for the purposes of training and certification of Public Health Inspectors and Public Health Nurses in the West African sub-region consisting of five Anglo-phone West African countries of The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. In 1982, WAHEB became independent of the Royal Society of Health, London but commenced business in 1983 performing same functions in the sub-region through main organs – the Board and the secretariat, by this the Nigeria Foreign Exchange was preserved due to the new role now played by WAHEB. The Boards Secretariat has the mandate of planning, administering all the examinations, curriculum modification /review and implementing policies made by the board.

WAHEB EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Indexing of candidate(s) is done within three (3) months after admission.
  • Registration of candidates is done in April for June Examinations, while August for the October and November Examinations.

PHN (Public Health Nursing)

WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than 2 sittings.
  • 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and 3 basic science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) plus either B,C,D or E.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) Certificate.
  • Registered Midwife (RM) Certificate or any other basic nursing certificate e.g. Psychiatric Nursing Certificate plus one year post qualification experience.
  • BNSC candidates from universities accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and WAHEB.
  • BNSC candidates from universities outside Nigeria with evidence of verification of certificates and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

HND (Environmental Health Technologist)

  • ND (Environmental Health Technologist)  Certificate.

ND (National Diploma in Environmental Health Technologist)

  • WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than 2 sittings.
  • 5 credit passes in English, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry and any one from the following: Geography, Economics, Food and Nutrition, Physics, Technical Drawing.

EVT (Environmental Health Technician)

  • WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than 2 sittings.
  • 5 passes in any of the following afore-mentioned certificates.
  • Note that the 5 passes must include four (4) credit passes in English, Biology/Health Science and any of the two following subjects: Maths, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Agricultural Science.

EHA (Environmental Health Assistant)

  • WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than 2 sittings.
  • Four (4) passes, two (2) at credit level which must include English, one Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Health Science or Integrated Science) and any two subjects.

HEP (Health Education and Promotion)

  • WASCE/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB in not more than 2 sittings.
  • Four (4) credit passes to include English, Maths, Biology/Health Science and any one (1) subject.

WAHEB EXAMINATION FEES

Public Health Nursing

  • Indexing – ₦19,500 per student
  • Verification – ₦1,300 per result/certificate
  • Examination Registration – ₦34,000 per student

Environmental Health Technology HND

  • Indexing for HND I – ₦13,000 per student
  • Examination Registration – ₦34,000 per student

Environmental Health Technology ND

  • Indexing – ₦13,000 per student
  • Verification – ₦1,300 per result/certificate
  • Examination Registration – ₦28,000 per student

Environmental Health Technician

  • Indexing – ₦5, 200 per student
  • Verification – ₦1, 300 per result/certificate
  • Examination Registration – ₦17,500 per student.

Environmental Health Assistant

  • Indexing – ₦5,200 per student
  • Verification – ₦1,300 per result/certificate
  • Examination Registration – ₦13,600 per student

Health Promotion

  • Indexing – ₦5,200 per student
  • Verification – ₦1,300 per result/certificate
  • Examination Registration – ₦17,500 per student

Food Hygiene Diploma

  • Application form – ₦2,600 per student
  • Examination Registration – ₦11,100 per student

Food Hygiene Certificate

  • Application form – ₦2,600 per student
