Latest Update: Beware of Fraudsters, UBEC Warns Federal Teachers Scheme Applicants
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has warned interested applicants for the ongoing Federal Government Teachers Scheme recruitment to be wary of fraudsters who have opened fake portals and online advertisements to defraud unsuspecting candidates.
The Public Relations Officer of UBEC, Dr Ossom Ossom made this statement in Abuja on Sunday. He informed prospective candidates to ignore all sorts of demand requesting their Bank Verification Numbers and registration payment.
He maintained that the Commission would not ask candidates to pay for registration, adding that the entire recruitment process is free. Ossom commented that UBEC has not contracted any agency to act for or on its behalf in the recruitment exercise.
Dr Ossom advised applicants to seek further clarifications from SUBEBs, UBEC Zonal and State Offices on the recruitment process, warning that the UBEC will bear no responsibility for candidates who patronize unofficial sources in the ongoing recruitment of teachers into the scheme.
