The Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has released the Public and Private [Primary and Secondary Schools] 1st, 2nd & 3rd Term Dates/Academic Calendar for 2024/2025 Academic Session.

Kogi State Schools Academic Calendar 2024/2025 [Public & Private]

The Ministry of Education, Kogi State, has released the official school calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session. This applies to all public and private schools in the state. Below are the details:

First Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 16th September 2024
  • End Date: Friday, 13th December 2024
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 31st October – Friday, 1st November 2024 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 14th December 2024 – Sunday, 5th January 2025 (3 weeks)

Second Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 6th January 2025
  • End Date: Friday, 4th April 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 20th February – Friday, 21st February 2025 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 5th April 2025 – Sunday, 27th April 2025 (3 weeks)

Third Term

  • Start Date: Monday, 28th April 2025
  • End Date: Friday, 25th July 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 12th June – Friday, 13th June 2025 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Saturday, 26th July 2025 – Sunday, 14th September 2025 (6 weeks)

2025/2026 Academic Session (First Term)

  • Start Date: Monday, 15th September 2025
  • End Date: Sunday, 14th December 2025
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Mid-Term Break: Thursday, 16th October – Friday, 17th October 2025 (2 days)
  • Holiday Period: Monday, 15th December 2025 – Friday, 10th January 2026 (4 weeks)

Important Notes

  1. Commencement:
    The 2024/2025 academic session begins on 16th September 2024.

  2. Boarding Students:
    Boarding students are required to resume a day before the official resumption date for each term.

  3. Academic Work:
    Full academic activities must commence from the first week of resumption.

  4. Public Holidays:
    National and state public holidays must be observed according to the school timetable, which runs from 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM for primary schools and 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM for secondary schools.

  5. Compliance:
    Any individual or school found violating the approved calendar will face appropriate sanctions.
