LASU Matriculates 6,377 Students for 2021/2022 Session

The Lagos State University today 5th, September 2022 matriculated 6,377 students into various Facilities and Schools in the University.
 
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, mni, during her address at the well-attended ceremony, which had the Principal Officers, Deans, Parents and Guardians, Student Union Leaders, and members of the University community, assured the students that they are in for a worthwhile academic experience which impact will last a life time.
 
She further reiterated that the event is very important because it marks the official enrollment of 6,377 matriculating students into the university's academic programmes.
 
In other to attain academic excellence, she advised the newly admitted students to attend lectures regularly, attempt all assignments, shun deviant behaviors, avoid indecent dressing and other vices that can expose them to danger.
 
The Acting Dean Students’ Affairs Division, Prof Tajudeen Olumoko, in his speech to the matriculating student, stated that the cardinal objective of the exercise is to acquaint the students with the fundamental principles, norms and culture of the University.
 
He, however, sounded a note of warning that LASU has zero tolerance for any form of misconduct or any involvement in vices as "we do not hesitate to apply sanctions whenever there is an infraction." 
 
Earlier in the programme, Mr Ayoola Onabokun, an Alumnus of LASU, motivated the matriculating students to set their goals properly, set strategy for achieving the goals, and face their admission to the fullest.
 
He also encouraged the students to make use of social media positively for academic upliftment.
The matriculation ceremony is the second under the administration of the current Vice Chancellor.
