Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic (AKANUIBIAMPOLY), Unwana Student Union Government (SUG) Calendar of Activities for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.

The management of the Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic (AKANUIBIAMPOLY) has released the calendar of activities of the Student Union Government (SUG) for the 2020/2021 academic session.

The Rector has graciously approved the Calendar for Student Union Government activities for 2020/2021 academic session as follows:


Latest Update: This is to inform you that Management at its 367th Regular Meeting held on Tuesday, 9 February 2021 considered and cancelled the following activities for 2020/2021 students' week:

(i) Rag Day
(ii) Gala Night
(iii) Old School Day
(iv) Cultural Day
(v) Jean's Day

The cancellation is to prevent the spread of the new strain of COVID-19 in the Polytechnic in accordance with the Federal Government guidelines to contain the community spread of the new strain of the corona virus throughout the nation. The decision of Management is hereby communicated to you for your information

You are required to bring this directive to the attention of the Students Union Executives as well as the entire students for their information and compliance.



Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic SUG Calendar of Activities 2020/2021

  • Rector's Cup Competition: Monday 1st February - Saturday 13th February 2021 (13 days)
  • Students' Union Government Week: Tuesday, February 16th - Friday, February 19, 2021
  • Collection and submission of expression of interest form: Monday, February 8th - Monday, February, 22nd 2021 (14 days)
  • Departmental Elections/Constitution of Electoral Committee: Monday 15th February 2021 - Friday 19th February, 2021
  • Election into Student Judicial Council (SIC): Monday, 22nd February, 2021
  • Election of Hostel Representatives: Monday, 22nd February, 2021
  • Election into Students Representative Council (SRC):  Tuesday, 23rd February, 2021
  • General Elections into Executive Council: Friday, 26th February, 2021
