Yobe State Scholarship Board (YSSB) Maiden Annual Essay Competition, Eligibility, Topic, Requirements, Prizes, Application Guidelines, Submission Procedures and Deadline for 2020/2021 Session.
Applications are hereby invited from all Yobe State Students (Undergrads & Postgrads) across all tertiary institutions for the the Yobe State Scholarship Board (YSSB) 2021 Maiden Annual Essay Competition worth over One Million Naira in Prizes.
THEME:
- Unveling Great Ideas for Local Solutions
ESSAY TOPICS / CHALLENGES
Write on
1) Feasible and sustainable framework to enhance Basic education in the Northeast.
2) Any practicable entrepreneurship idea that can create jobs in Yobe
3) Ideas to enhance prudence in local government administration
4) Ideas to improve maternal and child health in smaller communities of Yobe
5) Ideas that explore modern techniques to improve agriculture in Yobe
6) A simple (but local) conflict resolution method for any common local disputes
7) A simple idea to solve any common local problem using local techniques or resources in Yobe
PRIZES:
1) Hon. Mai Mala Buni Award for Education (N250,000)
2) Baba Mallam Wali Award for Entrepreneurship (N150,000)
3) Hon. Musa Mustapha Award for Good Governance (N150,000)
4) Dr. Muhammad lawan Gana award for Health (N150,000)
5) Dr. Mairo Amshi Award for Agriculture (N150,000)
6) Dr. Mohammed Goje Award for Conflict Resolution (N150,000)
7) Nasir Jajere Award for Simple Home-made Solutions (N150,000)
The best essay in substance will receive the Sani Ahmed Kaitafi price for 'Resourcefulness' (Brand-New Laptop Computer).
All winners will be issued certificates of merit.
OBJECTIVE:
- Generate feasible ideas to solve local problems using local means and resources.
ELIGIBILITY:
This competition is open to all Yobe State Students (Undergrads & Postgrads) across all tertiary institutions.
Essays should
1) Be submitted electronically via yssbessay@gmail.com
2) Be typed in MS Word using Times New Roman font style, 12 font size, and double-line spaced
3) Be between 1200 - 2000 words
4) Contain titles and contact details of the participants
5) Be creative and engaging with appropriate use of examples and illustrations and feasible recommendation/solutions
NB: All essays should be original as they will be subjected to 'Turnitin' Plagiarism Checker.
