Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai Gets Three (3) New Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer Based Test (CBT) Centers for Conduct of e-learning and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB) has approved three Computer Based Test(CBT) Centres for Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai for the conduct of e-learning and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) .
Welcoming the delegation from the Board, led by the State Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Ndaliman, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu appreciated the honour done the University for the befitting Centres.
He commended the Registrar of the Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede and assured that the University would not compromise in any way which would bring its reputation and that of the Board down.
The Vice Chancellor pointed out that as part of its community services, the University needed a Centre that would further encourage its stakeholders.
Responding, the Deputy Director and State Coordinator of JAMB, Malam Ibrahim Ndaliman commended the quality of technical arrangements put in place by the University, and assured that full accreditation was guaranteed for the institution to commence e-learning and JAMB examination.
Also speaking, the Chief Technical Advisor of the Board who is also the Ag. Director, ICT of the University, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi said the Centre would serve the need and services of the University, the neighboring Community and State at large, stressing that it is of immense benefit.
He added that given the Centre's strategic positioning inside a University, adequate manpower, management support, and exposure to the University setting, the prospective candidates stand to benefit even before being admitted.
The Technical Advisor appreciated the efforts of the University Management, the Directorate of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and the entire staff of the University for making the accreditation exercise possible.
The accredited Centres are: IBBU Lapai e-learning I and II, and IBBU Lapai ICT UTME JAMB Centre.
Highlights of the visit was presentation of souvenirs to the delegation by the Vice Chancellor.
In a similar development, the University Directorate of Information Communication Technology (ICT) has held a meeting with all its service providers.
A statement made available to IBBUL News and signed by the Acting Director Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi said the invited Service Providers were received and hosted in the board room of the Maritime Institute of the University.
The team was made up of all professional key players and the Directorate's stakeholders that are the custodian of the whole cyberspace and its entirety.
The service providers are: Layer3 Limited, Hutsoft Technologies Limited, JD Laboratory Nigeria Limited and Raadaa Partners International Limited.
The statement further said the deliberation was aimed at repositioning the products and services subscribed and designed for the seamless operations in the University.
It disclosed that, in the meeting, status of the services was discussed, academic-industrial partnership was sorted and the grand professional mutual relationship was done.
The meeting which was chaired by the Ag. Director of ICT, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi, had in attendance, the Head of Policy and Business Development Unit; Abdullahi Aliyu Enagi, Head of Network Services, Engineer Mohammed Abdullahi Maigida, Head of Software Development Unit, Bala Usman; also in attendance was the Head of Management Information Service, Ibrahim Liman.
