Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila was granted license to operate as a bonafide and full-fledged private University by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The University's Mission is to encourage global study, experiential learning and research, interdisciplinary scholarship, creativity, and entrepreneurial endeavours with ultimate fear of God. The University will take off with three (3) faculties consisting of fifteen (15) degree programmes.

COURSE DURATION
- Programmes in the Faculties of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, Computer and Computing are of eight semesters.
- The two programmes in the Faculty of Basic Health Sciences, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science are of a duration of 10 semesters each, while B.Sc. Public Health is eight semesters.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Entry Requirements: Applicants must possess Five Credits in SSCE/GCE or its equivalent in not more than two sittings in addition to meeting the aforementioned JAMB requirements.- The four programmes (Accounting, Taxation, Economics, Entrepreneurship Studies) domiciled in the Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences require Five ‘O’ level Credits each in Mathematics, English, Economics, Accounting/Financial Account and any other social science subject; B.A. Islamic Studies requires Five ‘O’ level Credits in English, IRS/IRK, and any other three arts/social science subjects, ()level Credit in Arabic is an added advantage.
- The programmes in the Faculty of Science and computing and faculty of basic health sciences require five ‘O’level Credits each in biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and English, O’level credit in geography will be accepted in place of biology for B.Sc. Computer and B.Sc. Software Engineering.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Applicants
should: (a) visit JAMB CAPS for change of institution and choose
Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila as their first choice and (b) visit www.ausu.edu.ng to fill application form and pay a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) only and submit.
Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila will not entertain any payment outside its stipulated website; applicants should please pay attention.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
STEP 1
ACCOUNT ACTIVATION
1. Click on New Application.
2. Enter your name, and a valid phone number (ensure that it is your phone number for it will be used in subsequent communication with you).
3. You will be redirected to the login page.
STEP 2
LOGIN
1. Use your phone number (The one you entered earlier) as your Username as well as password.
2. A successful login will take you to the welcome page.
STEP 3
FEES PAYMENT
Confirm your information on the page and proceed to select a payment method. After a successful payment, you would proceed to fill your application form. You are required to enter your personal information including your names and other relevant information. A valid phone number is required which is going to be the primary communication medium in regards to your application.
STEP 4
CHOICE OF PROGRAMME
You are required to select the choice of your programme of study from the list of available Courses.
STEP 5
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
i) You are expected to enter not more than two sittings of O’level Examination results
ii) You are expected to enter grade details of relevant O’level results (SSCE/WAEC etc)
iii) You are also required to specify the centre number and exam number of all the results you have entered.
STEP 6
UPLOADING PASSPORT
You are required to upload your recent passport photograph that is very clear and with a plain background. The picture should be a JPEG format and not more than 150kb in size.
STEP 7
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
After filling all the necessary information, you should submit the application by clicking on the ‘Submit application’ button. Before final submission of the application, cross-check to ensure all the information are correct. This is because the information cannot be updated after submission.
STEP 8
PRINTING OF APPLICATION
After the successful submission of the application, your application page is displayed. The phone number is your Application ID as well as your login username. Click on Print Application to print it.
STEP 9
SCREENING CENTER
Before your application can be processed:
(i) You must attend the screening in person.
(ii)You are required to present the originals of your relevant credentials (O’ level results, /acknowledgment slip or A’level results applicable.
(iii) Photocopies of all results presented will be submitted at the center.
(iv)You are to submit photocopy of indigene letter, certificate of birth/declaration of age.
STEP 10
APPLICATION STATUS
You will be contacted via SMS on your phone for the date, time and venue of screening.
