University of Calabar (UNICAL) Senate Has Approved the Expulsion of Two (2) Students and Suspends Two (2) Other Students over Examination Malpractice.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi, in keeping with her determination to rid the Institution of all forms of academic dishonesty, has wielded the big stick by approving the expulsion of two students from the University.
The Vice Chancellor acting on the report of the Institution’s Examination Misconduct Committee (SEMC) approved the recommendation of the committee to expel one Gift Adalikwu with Matric No: 18/064244044, a second-year student of the Department of Library & Information Sc. for her involvement in examination malpractice during the 2019/2020 1st semester examinations.
Similarly, one Obongha Cordelia with Matric No: 17/064244074, a 3rd year student, also of the Department of Library & Information Sc., is expelled for impersonating another student during the 2019/2020 1st semester examination.
Also, one Oyama, Peter Bassey with Matric No: 18/071145034, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Law is to serve suspension from studies in the Universities for the 2020/2021 academic session for his involvement in examination malpractice during Law of Thoughts (PPL 331) Examination.
However, Nsa Bassey Ekpenyong with Matric No: 17/064244071, a third-year student of Library & Information Sc. will get an “F” grade for the Course LIS 361 for leaving the examination hall with her script only to submit an empty script to the HOD the following day.
