The Federal Ministry of Education has revealed that candidates in the south-east part of the country who were unable to sit for some subjects in the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), due to the sit-at-home order imposed by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will be given another opportunity to write the examination.
This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Sonny Echono on Monday, September 20, while monitoring some examination centres in Abuja. Echono who condemned the disruption of the exams by the sit-at-home order expressed optimism on the conduct of the examination in some parts of the country so far.
He assured the affected students that the ministry will put the appropriate measures in place to ensure that they are given other opportunities to write the exams.
