Al-Istiqama University Sumaila (AUSU) Conducts Maiden Orientation Excercise for their Pioneer Students for the 2020/2021 Academic Session.
The management of Al-istiqama University, Sumaila has conducted the maiden Orientation program to the first set the University students on Wednesday 27th October, 2021.
The program was graced with important personalities in attendance among which are the proprietor of the University, Rt. Hon. Kawu Sumaila OFR, VC Prof. Salihu Shehu, Deputy Speaker SHA Hon. Zubairu Hamza Massu, Chairman Sumaila LGA, principal officers of the University and other dignitaries from and outside Kano.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Salisu Shehu in his welcome address he commended the effort made by the proprietor and founder of the University for establishing the University that In Sha Allah would be a citadel of learnig and a research center that will foster the development of the host community, State and the country at large. He later calls on the pioneer students to be a good ambassadors and role models to the successive students.
On his remarks, the Promoter and founder of the University Rt. Hon. Kawu Sumaila, OFR commends the University management, the planning and implementation committee for their commitment towards the actualization of Al-Istiqama University. He also thanks the good people of Sumaila local government for their unflinching support and prayers right from the inception of the project to date. The proprietor also advises the students to concentrate on their studies so as to become useful members of the society and the entire Umma.
Lastly he commended the effort of some philanthrope whom sponsored students to study various courses in the University among them is the elder statesman Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata who sponsored 100 students , a business mogul A.A Rano 60 students, Sokoto and Kano State Governments sponsored 100 and 88 students respectively and the former Governor of Bauchi State His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Adamu Mu'azu for sponsoring 30 students.
After the Orientation program, inter-faculty quiz competition was organized for the students.
