Kings University (KU), Ode-Omu Osun State Has Received Full Accreditation from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN for its B.Sc. Accounting Programme.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, has approved full accreditation for the B.Sc. Accounting programme of Kings University, Odeomu, Osun State. This was contained in a letter addressed to the University Chancellor, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo signed by Funmi Otitoju on behalf of the ICAN Registrar/C.E.O.
With this accreditation, graduates of the Accounting programme of Kings University are exempted from the first two stages (Foundation and Skills Levels), hence, would sit for only the final level of ICAN Professional Examination. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Kuku, while speaking on the laudable feat remarked that this buttresses the commitment of the University to provide the students with global standard education and career advancements which will empower them to thrive within the complex and competitive contemporary workplace.
Kings University was recently ranked the 16th best Private University and 31st best among Nigeria’s Federal, States, and Private Universities by the National Universities Commission in its 2021 Nigerian University System Ranking.
Kings University Receives ICAN Certificate of Accreditation for Accounting
Kings University, Odeomu on Thursday, April 21st received its certificate of Accreditation of B.Sc. Accounting programme from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Kings University is among the tertiary institutions and tuition centres presented the Accreditation and Award of recognition by ICAN at its Victoria Island Office in Lagos.
With this certificate of Accreditation, students of Kings University can obtain the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Accounting with an added ICAN certificate
The President of ICAN, Mrs. Comfort Olu Eyitayo stated in her speech that the accreditation/recognition programme's main goal stemmed from the organization's findings that grooming proficient professionals necessitates quality control in the preparatory training they receive, the quality and number of those who deliver the training, and the instructional facilities in which such training is provided. Eyitayo disclosed that the Institute's accreditation of tertiary institutions and tuition centers is aimed at ensuring high-quality accounting education that adheres to the International
Federation of Accountants' (IFAC) global standards, which is the same standard that ICAN examinations are based on.
While congratulating the qualified institutions and tuition centers for meeting all of the conditions for running certificate courses in accordance with the professional body's mission, she urged them to uphold the high standards that qualified the institutions to earn the certificate of accreditation.
