The management of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) has released the guidelines and procedures for the collection of Degree and Diploma Certificates for all graduates of the institution.
UNN Degree/Diploma Certificate Collection Guidelines & Procedures.
You can only collect your Degree/Diploma certificate only if your certificate is ready at Careers unit. Take your statement of result to careers unit to confirm if your certificate is ready. After confirmation, follow the procedure below:- Generate invoice for certificate collection.
- Go to cash office with the conformation slip for certificate collection from the bank.
- At cash office, the slip will be converted to receipt.
- The receipt will be issued to you.
- Proceed to Internal Audit Unit with two copies the following requirements:

- Type in the address bar on your browser (unnportal.unn.edu.ng)
- Click on the drop down button on “Prospective Student”, observe the drop down menu as shown in the screen below.
- Click on “Bursary Collection Invoice”, the following screen will appear.
- Click on the drop down button on “Select Fee Category”, observe the drop down list under “Select Fee Category, then select “Student related Payment”
- Click on the drop down button on “Select Fee Sub Category” observe the drop down list under “Select Fee Sub Category”, select “Certificate Collection”
- Click on the drop down button on “Select Type” observe the drop down menu, then, select “Undergraduate” ( for undergraduates)
- Type in your registration number in the “Reg. No: column, click on “Next” button
- Click on the drop down menu on “Select Session” to select the session you want to pay for.
- Click “Submit” as shown above. The invoice will be generated
- Print out the invoice.
- Proceed to the recommended bank with the invoice to make payment.
- The bank will give you a bank conformation slip for the invoice generated .
CATEGORY A – GRADUATES 1964 – 2002, REQUIREMENTS
- Evidence of (N10,000) payment for certificate collection
- Statement of result
- Alumni identification card
- A letter of application addressed to (registrar carrier and student’s service unit) for collection of original certificate, using your present/address. This document should be certified and stamped by audit unit, UNN before presentation of certificate
CATEGORY B – GRADUATES 2003 – 2010, REQUIREMENTS
- Fee clearance certificate
- Alumni identification card
- Statement of result
- Security clearance
- Evidence of payment (N10, 000) for convocation
- A letter of application addressed to (registrar carrier and student’s service unit) for collection of original certificate, using your present/address. This document should be certified and stamped by audit unit, UNN before presentation of certificate
CATEGORY C – 2011 – 2017 AND BEYOND – REQUIREMENT
- Fee clearance certificate
- Accommodation clearance fee
- Library clearance fee
- Alumni identification card
- Statement of result
- Security clearance fee
- Evidence of payment (N10, 000) for convocation
- Letter of undertaking in lieu of fee clearance certificate
- A letter of application addressed to (registrar carrier and student’s service unit) for collection of original certificate, using your present/address. This document should be certified and stamped by audit unit, UNN before presentation of certificate
5. Internal Audit will confirm that the documents are genuine and stamp it.
6. Take the original copies of the stamped documents to Careers Unit.
7. Careers unit will confirm the documents then, issue your certificate to you..
