The Chairman of the Nuclear Technology Centre of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, Professor Yusuf Ahmed, has revealed that interested applicants can now apply to the University of Abuja to study Nuclear Science and Engineering.
He stated this at the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the vice-chancellor of the university, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, saying the commission is now affiliated with the University to run undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the course.
Ahmed noted that the Commission has six centres, one in each geo-political zones affiliated, with a federal university where research, innovation and technology are being developed, adding that the university would use the laboratories and equipment at the Nuclear Technology Centre for the purpose of developing human capital.
The vice-chancellor of the university, Na’Allah described the development as a new dawn for Nigeria in addressing her energy challenges through the development of the necessary manpower with research and innovation.
