Anambra State Ministry of Education (ASMOE) Publishes the Full List of Approved and Unapproved Schools in the State [Download in PDF].
In a bit to revamp the educational sector in the State the Anambra State Government (ANSG) through the Ministry of Education has released and published the list of approved and unapproved schools in the State.

The State Government earlier had shut down no fewer than one thousand and seventy-five (1,075) unapproved schools operating across the state in a move aimed at revamping the education sector.

The state's ministry of education posted the names of the schools and their location on the website of the Anambra State ministry of education on Thursday, July 21, advising the public to take note and refrain from transacting business with them.

The publication further warned that pupils and students in these schools run the risk of being barred from participating in any State or federal exams, including the Transition Placement Exams, First School Leaving Examination Exams, Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE), Senior School Certificate Exams (WAEC/NECO), etc.

The school owners were advised to register their establishments and adhere to the procedures for school inspection while parents were advised to immediately withdraw their children from the schools and make alternative plans to enroll them in state-approved schools.

The Under listed schools, put forward by the Director of Schools – Ministry of Education have recently been approved by the State Ministry of Education, after meeting the needed registration, inspection and approval requirements. 

By so doing, the schools should be disregarded from the list of Unapproved Schools recently published. 

As more schools become registered, their names shall be included in the list below for disregard as unapproved schools.

The list of unapproved schools in Anambra State has been made public by the Ministry of Education. The under-listed schools are not authorized to function in the State and are, as a result, now declared to be public information.

By doing this, pupils and students in these schools run the risk of being barred from participating in any State or federal exams, including the Transition Placement Exams, First School Leaving Exams, Basic Education Certificate Exams (BECE), Senior School Certificate Exams (WAEC/NECO), etc.

Owners of such schools are advised, for their own benefit, to register their establishments and adhere to the procedures for school inspection. Parents are hereby advised to immediately withdraw their children from these schools. They should come up with alternative plans to enroll their kids in state-approved schools.
