Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Has Announced the Official Suspension of the Eight (8th) Month Old Strike Conditionally, Read Full Press Release.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has finally suspended its strike after 8 months of shutting down public universities across the country.
This announcement was confirmed at the ASUU National Executive Council meeting, held in Abuja on Thursday, October 14, and stretched into Friday, October 15, the union voted for the strike to be suspended conditionally.
It was gathered that the meeting was held to review some of the recent development surrounding the strike, including the Court of Appeal order, which had directed the union to obey the judgment of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, before it can appeal the judgment.
The meeting had in attendance, all states and zonal branch executive members of the union. ASUU has finally made an official statement regarding this new development.
Following this announcement are Public Universities nationwide are expected to resume for academic activities on Monday 17th October, 2022.
