programmes in the main campus of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Portharcourt.PAMO University of Medical Sciences is a Private University.

Basic Science Unit
This unit will offer basic Science course in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics to students of all faculties as requires by the BMAS of all academic programmes.General & Entrepreneurial Studies Unit
The general studies courses which will be compulsory for all undergraduate students are intended to help students develop and improve their communicative skills, imbibe self-reliance and independence through the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, appreciate society in its cultural, social and religious diversity and appreciate the principles and basic tenets of science.The general studies courses to be mounted by the PAMO University of Medical Sciences will be those stipulated by the NUC Minimum Academic Standards and these are:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission into PAMO University of Medical Sciences will be open to
candidates with the requisite qualifications and subject to written
and/or oral examination as the University may determine. Admission into
the University will be open to all irrespective of religion, ethnic
group, gender, creed and disability. All applicants for admission into
the PAMO University of Medical Sciences will have attained 16 years of
age.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
The admission requirements into the undergraduate programs of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences will be as follows:- All admissions into the University will be through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB);
- For admission to 100 level (via UTME), candidates must obtain five (5) credits at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sittings including credit passes in English and mathematics; and attain acceptable points in UTME in relevant subjects;
- For admission by direct entry (200 level), candidates will, in addition to having five (5) O’Level credits, possess at least to (2) A’ Level or its equivalent for programmes other than MBBS where applicants must possess at least three (3) A’Level or its equivalent passes in relevant subjects, or possess a good first degree in a related field not below Second Class Lower;
- Those who meet the requirements for admission will be subjected to screening interview to be conducted by the University;
- The university will not accept transfer students until after at least the first two years of its existence.

DURATION OF PROGRAMS
Undergraduate Programs
Undergraduate programs of the PAMO University of Medical Sciences will have different durations as provided for in the NUC Minimum Academic Standards. The durations will be:
- A minimum of 8 semesters and a maximum of 12 semesters through UTME and a minimum of 6 semesters and a maximum of 10 semesters through Direct Entry for a four-year full-time degree program in the Faculties of Allied Health Sciences;
- A minimum of 10 semesters and a maximum of 14 semesters through UTME and a minimum of 8 semesters and a maximum of 12 semesters through Direct Entry for a five-year full-time degree program in the Faculties of Allied Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences;
- A minimum of 12 semesters and a maximum of 18 semesters through UTME and a minimum of 10 semesters and a maximum of 16 semesters through Direct Entry for a six year fill-time degree program in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Clinical Sciences and Dentistry;
- A student accepted on transfer will be obligated to spend at least two or three sessions in the University depending on the program of study before graduating;
- Any period of authorized withdrawal will not be included in the normal duration of an academic program.
