About The Milo Basketball Championship

The MILO Secondary School Basketball Championship is Nigeria’s largest secondary school basketball championship. Since 1999, schools from across the country have competed for the chance to win the prestigious MILO Basketball Championship. The Championship has produced some of the best basketball talent in Nigeria, some of whom have gone on to play in Nigeria's National Team as well as in various leagues, including the NPL and the NBA.

Every year, the Championship gets bigger and better. This year, over 10, 000 schools across the 36 states of the Federation, including Abuja, are expected to participate in the competition.

The growing success of the Championship is due greatly to all of the efforts of the stakeholders which include; the Nigerian Schools Sports Federation (NSSF), the National Collegiate Sports Foundation (NCSF) and the Ministries of Sports, Youth Development and Education in the various States. These organisations have worked tirelessly with MILO to bring awareness to basketball in Nigeria.

For 21 years, MILO has been at the forefront of Basketball development in Nigeria through the MILO Secondary Schools Basketball Championship. MILO has remained dedicated to making sure children are motivated from a young age in order to unlock their potential as they compete throughout the Championship.

MILO is well known in Nigeria for being the number one supporter of grassroots sports. MILO believes that by engaging in sports, children have the ability to learn important life skills such as determination, discipline, respect and teamwork.
